Perfectly located and custom built with travelers and family in mind. Totally private compact 2 bdrm/1 bath house with A/C, private entrance, full private roof top deck, with star gazing igloo and 2 outdoor patio! Eclectic neighborhood with our own quaint main street lined with amazing restaurants and bars-University Heights is where it's at! Only a short walk to Hillcrest and easy drive to North Park, $5 Uber ride to downtown, 10 minute drive to the zoo and balboa park, 15 minute drive to beaches.
I was really surprised at how great if a location this is. I was prepared for traffic since it was a weekend in the Summer, but it seemed like we always ended up going against traffic. We didn't have any problems finding parking either.
Kitchen and bathroom were well equipped, though no dishwasher. Host gave great directions to locate entrance. Neighborhood was homey and quiet. Only concern was the master bed was not very comfortable for our older bodies.
This casita has everything you need and then some. Totally comfortable inside and such a bonus to have great outside space, directly off the main bedroom and of course, the rooftop area!
Great location minutes away from the Zoo and a bunch of restaurants. Space was clean and had all the amenities you need if you are traveling with kids. Host even provided a wagon for us to use while we went to the Zoo.
Wonderful stay for our spring break in San Diego. This property is centrally located to everything we wanted to do... the zoo, sea world, Coronado, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, etc. Never more than a 20 min drive (as long as you don't hit traffic times). Home was comfortable and had everything we needed. My teens loved the roof even though the igloo was down due to a wide storm. Would for sure recommend!
Amanda is a terrific host. She had everything we needed for our stay. Very quiet neighborhood & many things nearby. Plenty of parking & you can park in the alley which you can access the property through the back gate..
My husband, our 7-year-old daughter and myself enjoyed this lovely house January 2025. It was centrally located by the airport, zoo, Sea World and La Jolla beach. It felt very safe to walk around the neighborhood and there is a delicious authentic Mexican restaurant about 15 minutes away on foot. The host was very accommodating. It was a great stay!
We had a group of 4 female coworkers that needed a place close to our workshop. We need space to sleep but also have quick meetings. The space worked well for our needs was close to everything. Street parking is always a challenge but it worked out
The property is just wonderful. The property is very comfortable. My son is in the Navy in San Diego. He wanted some home cooking. I made a casserole. The kitchen was stocked with all of the pots and pans that I needed. The only issue that we had was locating the entrance to the property. The entrance is in alley with a different number on the gate. I received my welcome packet on the day of our arrival. We had been traveling from Upstate NY all day. So we had the Vrbo address. Also, with it being dark outside, it was difficult to recognize the house from the pics that were posted on Vrbo. To be fair the host did mention the alley entrance with the different house number on the gate. After traveling all day , we just found that all very confusing. However, again, after we figured out the entrance, we had no other problems with the property. We enjoyed out stay there and would stay again if with visited San Diego again.
The home is located exactly where we wanted to be to visit the museums and not too far to reach the beach. Was shocked how quickly we could get to the zoo. Probably saved us tons of time not having to navigate through CA traffic. We had a wonderful time and appreciated the house.
The house is well setup and quite comfortable. Itâs clean and nice to find someone that doesnât cheap out on the little stuff such as toilet paper.
The only slight issue was parking on the street but itâs not bad.
this place is so unique and quiet but close to everything in San Diego. The rooftop is a great place to go and soak up the california sun or lay under the globe and relax. would definitely recommend to anyone!
We enjoyed every moment of our 6 night stay. Although it is a compact space, the well equiped casita felt quite roomy and with the outdoor areas, positively spacious. We were travelling without a car and with the use of Uber and a few buses were able to get easily get everywhere we wanted. Trader Joeâs and Ralphâs are a walkable distance away via the Vermont St pedestrian bridge.
We did have an issue with the mechanism on the sofa bed failing, but appreciated Amandaâs fast response to provide an alternative.
Happy memories of evenings spent in the outdoor spaces here will linger.
We really enjoyed our stay. Communication was easy and prompt. Location was perfect for our plans. Loved the rooftop deck. We would definitely stay here again.
All the outside furniture needs replacing they had holes in them and and they could use a bug Light because the Flies were horrendous on the patio and the spiral staircase needs more lighting and the couch would have been nice if it was a L shape not enough seating for four adults
My group and I loved the location of this place. It right in the middle on San Diego and there is so much to do with such a short drive away.
You can tell this place is very well maintained. We would definitely book again!
The place was more than enough for what we needed. Everything we needed was there. It was clean and well furnished. (The one item we noticed was the picture of the dome needs to be updated. The dome cover is not clear as shown but we could still stargaze from the front. We were not disappointed at all.) The rooftop patio including the dome was very enjoyable. The area was quiet and the weather was perfect. The location is also perfect. The owner left good guidelines for us and made themselves available if we needed anything. We will definitely come back!
