The area was not safe. The lower rooms had bars on the windows. Most rooms do not have AC. The management team was not able to accommodate my request for a mini fridge. Checked in and immediately checked out after the inspection of the room.

We stay at the garret hotel for a folsom weekend. The convenience of the location was priceless. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was super friendly. The price couldn't be beaten by any other hotel of area. I read reviews before going and most of them were complaints about the parking, saying that was very expensive and get full quickly, for that reason I reserved parking somewhere else, however, when i get to the hotel, the counter attendant offered me a parking space for a decent price, cheaper that what i paid on a "cheap" parking structure. Didn't use the pool or gym ate the across street hotel but it was offered to me.

excellent and friendly staff. my room is small and basic but still cozy and practical. fairly clean. The roads can be noisy at night snd early morning, thus, recommend to close the window tight before sleep. convenient to activities in SOMA areas.

Let's start with the bad. They do not have a pool or work out room. They have access to a pool and work out room in a hotel across the street. The contenental breakfast barely make the cut - it was sub par. Parking was very limited and challenging - only small cars can easily park here. You are one block away from Fentanyl fold alley. Now for the good. The room was clean, the front desk personel were nice enough. The bed was very comfortable - probably one of the best I have slept on when away from home.

4/5 stars because although the front desk were diligently attending to people, the could do better at showing that they valued us choosing their hotel or even just being friendlier or welcoming. Also, I wish the mini-fridge I called ahead of arriving was placed in our room at that moment versus waiting until after checking in. It would have been great to have it been cold and ready to us by the arrival time.

Would stay again. Hotel was close to The Warfield which we went to for a show. I felt safe, hotel was quiet and front desk was helpful and accommodating. Ive seen a few reviews mention the homeless population around the area, which is true but the area still felt safe and walkable. The room itself wasnt too big but it was nice and comfortable. The bed was very nice as well. Only thing I would note is that the window in the bathroom didnt lock which wasn't an issue for me but I thought I should still note it. As stated previously, I would definitely stay again.

It is easy to get to by tram or bus or bart . Close to Union square . Supermarket close by. Fewer homeless around in the mornings Breakfast was adequate (pastries and fruit )
