Coronavirus (COVID-19): A Message to Our Guests
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread around the world, the safety of our guests and staff at Casa de Cooper is top of mind.
To ensure a healthy stay with us at Casa de Cooper, we have implemented the following safety precautions:
~ Our cleaning staff is being extra diligent in disinfecting the property â before guests arrive and after guests depart -- with particular attention to high touch items and hard surfaces. To allow the extra time needed for this enhanced cleaning protocol, we will ensure a minimum of 24 hours between reservations.
~ To limit non-essential contact between staff and guests, we have temporarily suspended our daily housekeeping service except in an emergency.
We recognize these are unsettling times and want you to know that the safety and well-being of our guests and the entire Casa de Cooper team is our top priority. Whether you are traveling now or in the future, we look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise!
Kindest regards, Sandra & George Cooper Casa de Cooper ____________________________________

Other things to note
The last 300 meters of road to Casa de Cooper is uphill and unpaved. Extra care is required for guests arriving in low clearance vehicles and compact cars.
We have an electricity allowance of 35 kilowatts per day. This is a sufficient amount to power the villa with responsible use of air conditioning in the bedrooms. Electricity consumption over this amount will be charged at a rate of $0.50 USD per kilowatt hour.
Beautiful home, resurging residential community, poor communication from property manager
The listing is accurate, and the home is really quite nice. There was a little private dip pool at the house which was a nice surprise. The community of Pelican Eyes was once a great community -- and then the management went bankrupt, so parts of it feel abandoned (the restaurants are closed, paths are unpaved, etc.) That said, there seems to be new management investing back in the community such that in a year or two, I'd expect it to be back in action (they've already beautifully redone two community pools)The town's options for food (at least we found) were limited. We preferred having a chef come to the house. The unfortunate part of this experience for us was the house manager. He was quite unresponsive, unaccommodating, and lacked follow up. Simple questions about laundry or new soap went un-responded to. We gave him some leeway initially but repeated poor communication (we were there 8 days) led to this review.
Casa El Faro was quite comfortable and well maintained spacious 2 bedroom+ home with great view of the town and bay below. The overall complex (formerly called Pelican Eyes) has suffered over the years, but rumor is it is soon to be reinvigorated with new ownership. Once the toast of the town this has the potential to return to that level.
Walkable to town (albeit with a few stairs that could use a bit of TLC to reduce the slipping hazard - mostly due to rainy season so not likely a concern in dry season).
Bottom line - we would stay here again.
We had a great time at Casa Faro! The casa and the views are both beautiful. It was immaculately clean (altho keep in mind you are in the tropics and bugs will always find a way in!) and well furnished. Check in with Gabriel was seamless once we found the house. It was a little tricky to find which house it was as we arrived in the dark (due to a flight delay) and during a big storm. Gabriel still met us with a smile on his face tho! Walking to/from town was a bit of an adventure the first couple times, but then we got it down! The security guards were hesitant to let us go to our house when they realized we weren't exactly sure of the way (because we had arrived in the dark), but after we got it worked out, they remembered us and greeted us with smiles. The private pool was such a fun surprise! We also enjoyed the Pelican Eyes pool that is just a short walk away. Having air conditioning was absolutely wonderful and was a much needed way to cool off at the end of long days spent outside. We would certainly recommend Casa Faro to friends!
The house is absolutely gorgeous and the view is unbeatable. Just be warned as this is not explained in the listing, you have to climb quite a bit of stairs to the property, at least 10-15 minutes of walking. Not ideal if you have elderly guests or anyone with knee/leg issues, and definitely not wheelchair accessible.
