Our room had a newspaper and cup of what appeared to be water on the table by the door. I called the front desk to make sure we had the correct room, which he said yes, and told me just dispose of the cup. After I walked further into the room, there was trash in the trash can, including a banana peel. I called again and requested for housekeeping to come and get it because I didn’t want to smell banana. He said I could take care of it. We then went out to dinner and our key didn’t work. We went to the office and they corrected it. While in there, my husband again mentioned what happened earlier about talking to someone on the phone and the gentleman said yes it was him with a smirk on his face and said, “what did you expect me to do? It isn’t my job.” I guess it is the guests job??? My husband did get a bit loud at that point, but the gentleman was out of line. I was an executive housekeeper in HI for 15 years, and I know if I said something like that, or more importantly had a guest come into an unclean room, 1, I would have better been up to that room within 10 minutes to make it right, and 2, stood a good chance of being fired. Someone with the attitude of that gentleman and the condition of the room, is the fastest way to bring down profitability of a property. If any questions you can call us at 714-330-4077 Henry and Terry. I for one know housekeeping is not an easy job, but if not to standard, you apologize and make it right, not say “it’s a little thing”.
