Overview

The villa is in San Nicolas, a vibrant and charming city on Aruba's southern coast. Known as the "Sunrise City," San Nicolas offers a unique and authentic experience for visitors seeking to explore the island's rich history, stunning beaches, and vibrant culture.

As you step into San Nicolas, you'll be greeted by a colorful array of street art adorning the walls of buildings. The city has transformed itself into an open-air art gallery thanks to the annual Aruba Art Fair and the influence of renowned international street artists. Stroll through the streets to admire the vibrant murals and discover hidden artistic gems around every corner.

One of the must-visit landmarks in San Nicolas is the iconic Charlie's Bar, a legendary establishment serving locals and visitors since the 1940s. Known for its eclectic décor, fascinating memorabilia, and lively atmosphere, this bar is a testament to the city's rich history and community spirit. Grab a refreshing drink and converse with the friendly locals to get an authentic taste of Aruban hospitality.

San Nicolas is also home to some of the most stunning beaches on the island. Head to Baby Beach, a picturesque crescent-shaped bay with calm turquoise waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Feel the soft white sand between your toes as you relax under the shade of a palapa, taking in the breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea.

San Nicolas is the place to be for those interested in the island's cultural heritage. Visit the Museum of Industry to gain insight into Aruba's history as an oil refinery hub and learn about its impact on the city's development. Immerse yourself in the rhythms of Aruban music at the Carnival Museum, where you can explore the vibrant costumes, masks, and floats that make up the island's annual Carnival celebrations.

No visit to San Nicolas would be complete without indulging in the local cuisine. Sample traditional Aruban dishes like Keshi Yena (stuffed cheese) and Funchi (cornmeal polenta) at one of the cozy local eateries. Don't forget to try the famous Aruban pastechi, a mouthwatering pastry with various savory ingredients.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of this unique city, and let the warmth of its people and the beauty of its surroundings captivate you. You’ll also be able to explore the northern part of Aruba easily, as Oranjestad and Noord are only 30 mins away.
