Beautiful little hotel by the beach. Outside of the back door is cute little sitting area to enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast that is brought to your door. There is also a fire pit just outside your front door to enjoy the cool ocean air and the sounds of the ocean. We will definitely stay here when we are back in the area!

Great location, needs some attention.

The location is great! The rooms are clean and comfortable. Front desk staff seemed friendly. However, though I had booked 2 rooms with breakfast included on the hotels.com website, the front desk said as we had booked through Hotels.com, they would need to charge extra for breakfast ($15 per head). This was a huge inconvenience for us as we traveled with kids and didn't want to step out in the morning looking for breakfast. One of the rooms we stayed in didn't have a lock on the bathroom door and didn't have a shower curtain or door for the shower stall - which caused a bit of a mess.

Cambria CA Stay April 2025

Our stay at Sea Otter Inn was a good one overall, with a few hiccups due to miscommunication. When we checked in, we weren’t informed that room cleaning had to be requested a day in advance. As a result, our room wasn’t serviced while we were out, and we returned to find breakfast items left behind, which we had to clean up ourselves. We also had to request additional towels since none were replaced. Despite that, the room itself was comfortable and very clean upon arrival. The location is excellent—just steps from the beach, with easy access to hiking trails and great dining nearby. One big plus for us was the electric car charging on-site, which was super convenient. The breakfast, delivered to the room each morning, was a nice touch, and having coffee available throughout the day was appreciated. The staff was friendly, and aside from the room servicing issue, everything else went smoothly. I would recommend Sea Otter Inn, especially for those looking for a cozy stay in a beautiful area; just be sure to ask ahead about housekeeping!

Amazing stay. Clean room. Awesome location across from moonstone beach. Great breakfast burrito, pretty good pastries with fruit. Friendly staff. We’ll be coming back.

Nice small hotel, friendly staff, easy and quick checking in/out. Love the morning basket breakfast delivery in front of the room but wish there would be more choices (ex. Scrambled eggs instead of just hard boiled eggs). Comfortable bed, clean bedsheets and bathroom, wooden floor so no old carpet odor. Although we don’t use the pool and hot tub since it’s a bit chilly they need more maintenance. Convenient walk to the beach (less than a minute). Quiet, relaxing and beautiful scenery. Will definitely be back.

Great location (cross from Moonstone trail). The room was clean & updated. Front desk crew were very friendly. You pick your breakfast the night before and they deliver it to your room in a basket following morning. Very cute gesture. We will definitely go back.
