The room was clean, the beds were decent. The breakfast was very underwhelming, and apparently, it will be even worse starting 11/11. Though I didn't expect an ocean view because I didn't pay for it, I did not expect our patio to just back up into a bunch of air conditioners running from the building inches from the patio. The worst was that our keys were turned off by 10:30, when check out is not until 11:00. My kid was walking the beach and couldn't get back in with their key. Thankfully I didn't go with them or we would have both been locked out. At least give us the full amount of time in our room.

Santa Barbara coastal charm

Convenient (six blocks) from Amtrak. Harbor a block and half away. Well-appointed room; nice breakfast (moreso on Sat + Sun morning when fresh strawberries and breakfast pastries offered). Didn't try outdoor pool, but other guests found it "warmish."

The hotel and personnel are just great. We did have some difficulty with check-in because they said they only had one reservation for us instead of the two I made. What I didn’t know from my Expedia printout was that the second reservation was under my granddaughter‘s first name. I had assumed they were both under my name. Expedia might want to fix that.

We enjoyed the stay and the staff are absolutely amazing. The rooms are clean. The hotel is next to a park and the homeless population are around all the time. They were harmless, but it still didn’t have to best location vibe. It is close walking to a lot of great places. The kids loved the breakfast.

The Avania Inn of Santa Barbara was easy to find. Very nice and accommodating staff both at check in and at breakfast. The jacuzzi was nice and hot! The room was very clean. It was a really nice little getaway.
