Just the perfect, fun, easy location to visit a kid in grad school at UCSB. The music in the bar on Saturday was wonderful ... to sit by the fireplace and pool outside, look at the stars and enjoy the night with music was wonderful. It is a remodeled motel but done very well. Great location. Slept well on a comfy bed. Shower had GOOD water pressure ... a rarity in California. Bar is great. Restaurant is great. Take a deep breath and love the vide at this funky little place. Will definitely stay again ... until she graduates :)

Good Hotel, Just Needs Better Event Management

hotel was nice, relaxing, and dog-friendly. The bar was a great spot, especially with the fire pits, and the staff was welcoming. The only drawback was one bar being closed for a private event, and when it ended the guests were loud and disruptive. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay and a good place to relax

A very wonderful hotel for those who can appreciate it’s vibe. If you are looking for a specific franchised environment … this may not be the place for you. Good bar, very good restaurant. Bring your swimsuit as the pool is amazing, and heated! Fun to have a few guest pooches to pet as you sip your ice tea or cocktail on the outdoor patio, or your private patio just outside of your room. Lots of food options nearby. The only “thing,” which I wasn’t expecting, was to have my bed for the night be a fold-out couch. I had a reservation for a room with a bed but got in late (yes, airline delay) to find the only room left was a “living room” with a couch-bed. It was okay for a night. If you MUST have a bed and are coming in late, call ahead and tell them … or you may end up with what they have left.

Seems to be in decline

This was our second time staying here (first was two years ago). The property has definitely declined in terms of maintenance and cleanliness over the last two years. And the walls are unbelievably thin. If you stay here, pray you don’t have noisy neighbors!

My fiancé and I enjoyed this boutique hotel which was in walking distance to neighborhood restaurants and shops. Friendly staff & accommodated our request to have rooms connecting with my best friend and her family. Will definitely be back!

The property used to be nicer when it was the Kimpton. Hilton could step it up a little and have more access to water since they’re charging for bottles in the room. Being pet friendly makes it nice.

Only ok- went downhill since first stay

This was the second time we stayed here and it was not nearly as good. The beds are comfy, pillows are good, window shades do their job. But the air conditioning is terrible. It was so so hot. The hotel prevents the thermostat from going below 68, but it was not 68 in the room. It got hotter and hotter at night- my husband thinks the motion sensor in the room turns it off when there isn't movement. The faucet and handles in the bathroom sink were in need of replacement- they were totally corroded and looked gross. The hotel rooms need some improvements. Lobby area and restaurant are good, service in restaurant could be quicker.
