We spent 2 days in Santa Fe and El Ray Court was a big part of how much we enjoyed it. The room was large and clean, but the highlight was the food truck and bar. It was great to unwind with good food and a drink made with local spirits. Would've loved to have spent a few more days there.

The dog had a great time. Plenty of places to run around on grass for potty breaks, etc. And so nice that he could hang out in the lobby, bar, all the public outdoor spaces, etc.

Overall, the hotel gives motel vibes and the grounds could be better kept. The walls of my room were dirty and there was spider webs hanging around one of the lights. Tried to call th front desk but they didn’t pick up. I will say, the artwork around the grounds is nice but that’s about it. Would love to see management reinvest in the upkeep of the facility.

Stayed two nights and was very disappointed. No hair dryer, cold showers, and hot water only lasted a few minutes. The rug looked dirty and I ended up with bed bug-like bites after the stay.

We love the El Rey!

We always make a point to stay at El Rey Court on our roadtrips in the Southwest. Authentic motel feel and a casual vibe with live music on many nights.

I absolutely love the vibe of The El Rey. It has that perfect blend of vintage and modern and the property is incredibly beautiful. It is convenient to shopping in Santa Fe and there are many great restaurant options near by. Every time I stay, I hate to leave.

El Rey is a total vibe—charming, unique, and full of character. The property has so much to offer and explore, and it’s great for pets (they even provided a snack for the dogs, which was such a sweet touch!). The rooms are quirky in the best possible way—definitely not your standard hotel stay. The on-site food truck was great, and the pool is a must-hang spot—relaxing, fun, and full of energy. The front desk team was exceptional and made us feel right at home. It’s a little pricey, but that seems to go with the area. Honestly, we just wish we had more time to enjoy everything. Would absolutely come back!

The property was fine and clean. The pool are was nice. The lighting in the room is horrible. We requested a cover for the exposed LED lights in the restroom and were told maintenance would get back to us the next day and we never heard from anyone. The parking lot needs to be worked on, there are a lot of put holes.

I'll start by saying that I like this place, and have stayed here several times. The rooms are huge, the entire venue is smartly decorated, and the grounds are beautiful. There are fun and interesting events planned throughout the month, and the pool club is well maintained and equipped with a bar. However, expectations should be lowered regarding staff service and interactions (I've come to accept this, and simply adjust my expectations when staying here). There is a lot of "hipster aloof" and the so-called "Millennial stare" going on. You may find yourself standing in front of the check-in counter, the wonderful La Reina bar, or the Turquoise Trailer without being acknowledged by staff people, or perhaps waiting for the end of a cell phone conversation. There are exceptions, of course, and I've had wonderful encounters with many staff people over the years. Nonetheless, it's worth preparing for. There also seems to be a preference for local patrons in the bar. In spite of this, I recommend staying here, and will continue to stay here myself.

We LOVED El Rey. In fact, I’m actually wearing the hat I got from their GOATed souvenir shop right now; It’s legitimately a great looking design, which speaks to their overall aesthetic – very proudly southwestern but with a midcentury vibe that’s both classic and on trend. Rooms are comfortable and stylish. Hot tub is GOATed; I’ll attach some pics. El Rey is the best! There’s maybe one other place in town that I would even consider staying, but ER is probably more my style and is definitely more affordable.
