Our newly remodeled, utterly peaceful 900 s.f. one-bedroom retreat is filled with light and integrated with nature with large windows providing views of pinion pine, clouds and blue sky at every turn. Located in an exclusive gated community of luxury homes in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, it is tastefully furnished with lots of special touches to make your stay unforgettable: Our perfectly appointed and fully-equipped deluxe European kitchen features Miele appliances and a Nespresso machine; our dining area has views our comfortable queen bed is covered in luxury linens; our slate bathroom with large walk-in shower is filled with plenty of plush towels; and there's plenty of closet space plus a convenient washer/dryer.

After a busy day of roaming the town you'll appreciate the absolute silence and serene aura that envelops our little Casita. Grab a book from our extensive library to read and enjoy the view at the same time while perched on our comfy leather daybed. If you'd like to get even closer to nature you can explore the Dale Ball hiking trails, just a five-minute walk away. Or if you love to relax -- look no further. We're located just below the world famous Ten Thousand Waves Japanese spa --take a soak in one of their authentic outdoor tubs or book a massage in a private pavilion nestled among the pine. It's an experience not to be missed. We can also arrange for your own personal therapist right in the comfort of your private Zen retreat. If you're a skier, we're right on the road heading up to the Santa Fe Ski Basin, named one of the 12 top small ski resorts in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler. Ours is one of the closest homes you can get to the lifts, 12 miles door to door. We're also six short miles to the Santa Fe Opera.

Once you're in for the evening, crank up the barbie and enjoy a quiet dinner on our private outdoor deck. Enjoy our new firepit, comfy outdoor sofa and soft faux fur throws. If you can pull yourself away from the awe-inspiring carpet of stars that fills the night sky, you'll appreciate our 52" flat screen TV and Sonos sound system to create your ambiance of choice.

Our family-friendly great room room sofa can double as twin daybeds at night, and we're happy to welcome a couple with two children or teens. Please note that the rate quoted is a base rate for two guests; there is an additional $25 per stay, per person charge for a third or fourth guest.

We do require the purchase of a one-time $59 fee to cover property damage (to protect us and you) from unexpected problems. This is purchased as part of the VRBO check out process.

Don't miss your chance to stay at this wonderful spot -- so close to the bustle of the Plaza, but a thousand miles of serenity away.

This casita was spotless, beautifully appointed, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. We especially appreciated the peace and quiet and loved relaxing on the private deck, where we could listen to a variety of birds and enjoy the fragrant surrounding vegetation. If you're willing to venture just a few minutes beyond the city center, you'll be rewarded with this little slice of paradise. We would highly recommend staying here and would gladly return ourselves.

The Zen Retreat is a lovely, spacious casita nestled in a lovely, quiet, wooded area. It’s near fabulous hiking trails up the mountains and still able to be at the Plaza within about 10 minutes. Fully equipped kitchen, nice patio for warmer months, very clean. We spent 6 nights here and will definitely recommend to friends traveling to Santa Fe.

Heaven is a place on Earth! Not only was this in a breathtaking part of Santa Fe, an immaculate and thoughtful Casita but Michelle went above and beyond to ensure that my chemical/fragrance sensitivities were accommodated. I could breath and not be sickened by fragrance.I felt surrounded by the best nature has to offer and much rejuvenated from City life.My only disappointment is that we had to leave!

The Casita was beautiful and tranquil, a true retreat for our stay in Santa Fe. It's located in a neighborhood that's convenient to the city and surroundings but feels wonderfully quiet and private. I have never seen so many stars! The space is thoughtfully curated with everything we needed and some lovely perks as well: a spa-quality bath, a delightful deck with fire pit, and a well-appointed kitchen. Great getaway

The house was clean and comfortable, the property was secluded but a short drive from everything, and the host, Michelle, was on-site, lovely, and responsive. We've come to Santa Fe almost yearly since 1982, and Michelle's house beats a hotel any day. If you seek peace and quiet, this house is perfect for two.

Casita! I loved the location, knowing it was a 5 min drive from downtown. The space was great- although it’s definitely one bedroom which I felt was a little unclear. Had a bit of a musty smell and I wish there were window coverings in the bedroom, but overall great stay

Slice of heaven in the hill above Santa Fe

Our second stay at this beautiful modern Santa Fe guest home, and it won't be our last. We love the peaceful private setting on the hill above Santa Fe. The guest house is lovely and comfortable, filled with light and containing everything we need for a perfect getaway. We love the neighborhood and proximity to some of our favorite hiking trails. Close enough to town to have access to all Santa Fe has to offer in under 5 minutes, and yet the setting feels so peaceful and remote. The guest house is set perfectly next to the owner's home in such a way to provide privacy and take advantage of the forest views. The owners are lovely and thoughtful to guests needs. Highly recommend.
