Welcome to Turkish Delight in Seaside - 52 Odessa Street

Turkish Delight is a lovely guest cottage that is perfectly located half-way between the beach and Westside Pool; it’s just a 2 minute walk to either!

This romantic, cozy cottage sits along one of Seaside's secluded foot paths. Although this little cottage serves as guest house for its main house, Crisobel, due to privacy afforded by the lush landscaping, you will never notice the connection - unless you want to. Parking 1 Car Only.

Upon entry, you find yourself in the open living and dining area that open onto a private deck. A small kitchen is equipped with convection oven and dishwasher, and a laundry closet with washer/ dryer combination round out the first floor.

A wide wooden staircase leads to the beautiful queen loft bedroom suite surrounded with windows that provide a view of the landscaping and brings the sunlight inside and equipped with flat screen TV and stereo system. The spacious bath with glass walled shower completes the second floor. The seclusion and decor in this cottage creates a cool serene feeling each time you walk through the door.

Enjoy Turkish Delight as a getaway spot for a party of two, ideal for a couple, a teen or grandparent suite for a family vacation. Either way, it’s perfect.

A LITTLE ABOUT WHAT MAKES SEASIDE A SPECIAL VACATION EXPERIENCE

The idea behind Seaside came from 1946, when the grandfather of future founder Robert S. Davis bought 80 acres of land along the shore of Northwest Florida as a summer retreat for his family. In 1979 Davis inherited the parcel from his grandfather, and aimed to transform it into an old-fashioned beach town, with traditional wood-framed cottages of the Florida Panhandle.

Three decades ago the town of Seaside was established. And that is part of the magic of Seaside. It is a town. A Florida beach town. It is charming, graceful, eclectic, authentic, romantic. But Seaside isn't just a resort town. It’s a place where family and friends can connect with one another and with the beauty that abounds in this special corner of the world.

Seaside is not a cookie cutter beach resort. There are pools and tennis courts and other beach resort amenities, but Seaside is much more. It is a unique experience that not only changes the way a vacation is experienced, it changes the way a life is experienced.

We had a great time at this house! The location is fantastic. The walk to downtown Seaside and to the beach takes less than 5 minutes. Beaches were not crowded at all and was very peaceful. The property was very clean and the property managers had great communication.

The house itself and location are fantastic. The issues we ran into were with the property management. When we arrived we had to clean several dishes that still had food and grease on them and when we went to get ice we found what looked like black mold on it and in the ice container. It looked to me like the ice machine hadn’t been cleaned in a while. I did reach out to the management and they sent someone to look at it. However, I had to reach back out to management after almost 24 hours to find out that someone had actually come to check it out. The only option given was to shut off the refrigerator for 24 hours and then have it cleaned. That really wasn’t an option as we had perishable items that needed to stay refrigerated and no other alternative was offered. When I mentioned we had been buying ice they did offer to bring several bags of ice and a cooler but, minus a freezer to keep the ice frozen, this didn’t seem like a viable option.The place was dusty, the shower grout was mildewed, and the downstairs ceiling fan was set on low and there was no remote.Again, we loved the property but feel the property wasn’t well managed.

Needs some updating and a deep clean

Let’s start with the good. The location is incredible. The outdoor seating area is great. This property has a lot of potential. Now, for the rest. The place needs a thorough deep clean, including the nasty white couch cover. The faucet in the master (see photo) is loose beyond belief, but the management company blamed the owners. The furniture is sub thrift store. The lighting fixtures are ancient. The kitchen is not a place where you could cook - not even as good as a Residence Inn. The dining table and placemats were old and filthy. Management company doesn’t include tissues. No closet. End tables were lousy pedestals with no room for drawers or lamps (see photo).If the owners spent a mere 5,000 on repairs and updates, this could be awesome. But It’s not.

EVERYTHING was above expectations! We've been coming to the area for 20 years and stayed all over. This Seaside home was the cleanest! It was a perfect 2 person cozy spot. We will do this again and again! THABK UOU!

Location was perfect! Short walks to everything. Seaside became our favorite beach town! The little cozy guest house was perfect for a short stay. We are looking for a place to possibly stay a little longer as snowbirds, but don’t think we could manage that for longer than a week here. We ate most of our meals out at the many fun places around town. Cooking a full meal would be a challenge in the tiny kitchen. The bed was comfortable. The shower pressure was wonderful after a day at the beach followed up at the lap pool. We had a fabulous time!

Charming Guest House

We loved our stay at Turkish Delight, and I'd recommend it to pretty much anyone else (as long as you weren't booked during a time we'd like to book, that is...) I would make two recommendations to the property manager, though: 1.) the place needs a cutting board; and 2.) it can also use sink sponges. We missed these two items. Thank you for the great long-weekend.

Cozy cottage

We really enjoyed this property. Turkish Delight is a cozy cottage that is perfect for two people. It is very close to the pool and the beach and a very short walk to the shops and restaurants. The kitchen is tiny. There is a very nice ice maker in the small fridge, but no freezer. It worked well for us because we ate out or had premade food from Publix. The lap pool is now offering food which was fabulous. It is literally steps from the cottage and the food was good. There isn’t a TV downstairs, so you have to watch TV in bed. We spent most of our time outside so it really didn’t bother us. A couple “cons” Everytime we opened the door to the washer the door would push against the thermostat and turn the heat on. They don’t have deep fitted sheets so your sheets keep coming off the bed once you get in it. The property manager and maintenance were very helpful for the couple things we needed. When we didn’t have a corkscrew in the kitchen, they went out and bought one and delivered it to us.

Super cute and close to beach. It’s small but good for 2. Negatives are they had 3 glasses, dryer doesn’t work, bed isn’t comfortable and a/c takes forever to cool off. They also only give 4 bath towels ( I asked for more and they did bring me a ton 😍) This is our 2nd time to stay. I assumed some stuff may of been fixed or updated since no one had said it in a review. I always leave positive reviews or none. But if you pay this price it should be fixed in my opinion .

Cute tiny home near the beach

We stayed here for our honeymoon. It was near the beach and had all we needed. We were only there for a long weekend. If you are staying longer, the kitchen did not have alot of cooking utensils/pots/pans. But plenty of restaurants nearby to eat out and a cute market in town. We rented bikes to get around instead of renting a car. Private beach area. Very nice stay overall.

Turkish Delight

The location is very very good BUT the house is extremely tiny, and air does not flow upstairs at all. The house was filthy, blinds, TV, bed, chairs covered in dust. There was also sand under the bed and table, and 2 of the towels were dirty. The pictures make this place look bigger then it is, and I mistakenly thought the wrong house pictures were listed on VRBO!!! The wide angle of the pics that make it look better than it is, but my fault for not reading prior reviews. Your clothes cannot be put or hung up, so they have to stay in your suitcase and the bed and pillows are very uncomfortable. The washer/dryer all in one unit takes A LONG TIME to wash and dry. Hours actually...so bring towels. I stay at Seaside every summer, and have rented many places on VRBO never posting a negative review, but in my opinion this cottage is not worth the money/ fees, as their are so many other places available. We arrived very late due to delays, but I was able to get through to Best Beach Getaways when they opened the next morning, and they sent a cleaning crew in immediately. I dealt with Erica, who was super helpful and she did try to help us find another rental, but none were available. She was in constant communication, even providing her cell phone, and I felt she truly tried her best to remedy the house issues within her limitations.

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy seaside guest house. for what we needed was a good size. Be aware if you need to do any laundry the dual wash dyer takes hours to wash and dry . 6 to be exact for 4 towels. Owner may need to address mold in the shower area. And even though only two of stayed there having only two forks and two spoons was a little inconvenience. Also if you bring hang up clothes there is not a closet so have to use two hooks in bedroom just be prepared to live out of suit case. Love seaside town and less than 2 min walk to beach. We loved our visit.

Seaside 2022

Property was clean and easy to access and in a beautiful part of the neighborhood. It was about three blocks to walk to the main square at Seaside. There is private beach access as well which was nice. My husband and I overall enjoyed our stay. Main floor has a small seating area and small kitchen nook. There are winding stairs to take you to the upstairs loft area which has a bathroom and bed. The upstairs area does get warm compared to the downstairs area. The fan upstairs does not have a very high speed either. And the bed is more stiff than we prefer. But overall for a quick stay that’s close to seaside we would stay here again! Thanks for all your help!

Noise

Unfortunately the tree limbs haven’t been trimmed in a very long time, they hung over the metal roof and make the worst screeching sound all day and night. I spoke with the management but they didn’t fix the problem. The noise kept us from sleeping at all it was awful! They could have cared less that we were unable to rest and enjoy our stay.
