Hiraeth is located in Megalochori, one of the most beautiful villages on the island. Its location is ideal, as it combines accommodation in the heart of the village, and at the same time complete privacy due to its location.
At Hiraeth, our home in Santorini, we believe in emotion and faithfully abide by it. And the emotion behind its creation is nostalgia. It is this nostalgia for our travels and experiences, the memories of our loved ones, those moments of the past that we want to keep alive forever, that have nestled in every corner of our home. But also, it is the nostalgia of each of our guests who choose us and always have a place for us in their hearts. This meeting point is both our starting point and our source of inspiration. With just one difference: here you can always come back to.

We call Hiraeth home, because that's what it is. It is not a villa nor yet another hotel that stands out for its design or aesthetics. Hiraeth was not meant to accommodate visitors from around the world. It was originally created as our personal shelter. The house we had always dreamed of… Today, it is divided into 2 houses which are completely independent of each other and at the same time serve as members of the same "family".

You will find it in a privileged spot in the beautiful Megalochori, one of the island’s most picturesque villages. The airport and the port are only 10 minutes away by car, while Fira is no more than 15 minutes away. The village offers the beauty, the tranquillity and the access to what our visitors desire without feeling isolated since within walking distance there are remarkable restaurants, the Gavala winery, beaches and many more points of interest. At the same time, Hiraeth, regardless of its location, is a one-of-a-kind accommodation experience that you will not find anywhere else on the island.

The houses are connected by a welcoming area with the typical monastery table keeping you company all day long with local treats (here you’ll enjoy, among others, hot sourdough bread and homemade jams, as well as omelettes made of fresh eggs from the neighbour’s chicken coop!). The pool is the second connecting link with the garden that extends on two levels, looking like as if it’s taken out of a movie frame. Surely for a brief moment you’ll wonder if this is a village in Sicily… And emerging the pool, the built part of which is made of lava, and seeing the huge palm tree and the cacti around you, you might question yourself whether you are dreaming. Let us assure you, you are not. You’ve only just discovered your own paradise on earth in Santorini!

The house can accommodate up to 2 people. It is located on the upper level of the "complex" covering 45 sq.m. Upon entering the premises, you will find a living room and a fully equipped kitchen. You’re only three steps away from your dream bedroom. The light enters from the windows effortlessly and generously, while its natural coolness is ideal even on hot days! The house is completed with a spacious bathroom and a small dressing room. It also has its own private terrace with wonderful views that go as far as Perissa. Here, you can relax enjoying your wine and the immense beauty that stretches in front of you.

What we intended for the traveller who turns up at our doorstep is to live a truly unique and personal accommodation experience. We have created an unconventional house, surrendered to nature and its magic, for those of you who are eagerly looking for unpretentious accommodation options, houses around the world to leave your mark on. The pool, the fully equipped pergola and the garden on all levels serve both as a meeting place and a place for absolute privacy if you wish to. Everything here, from the smallest details, such as cutlery or living room books, to the “largest”, is part of a personal story. It’s up to you to learn more and become a part of it.
