My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. This property is beautiful, the staff are exceptional and the food is absolutely delicious. Our stay was completely faultless and I wish I had booked for longer. We also had the pleasure of enjoying a tasting which was world class in terms of information and passion of the host. We loved everything about our stay here; the location and views across the Douro are incredible, breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were exceptional and our room comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming making the whole stay extra special.

A Douro Valley Delight

This is my second time staying at the property and it was the same magical experience. This time around I just wanted to relax and enjoy the property. And that I did! I spent my days enjoying the trails, in enjoying the multiple fireplaces on the property. And of course the dinner. The food wine and port made for an unforgettable stay.

Wow. Oh how I wish we had planned to stay longer! The rooms were so stylish and comfortable, food was delicious and wonderful to dine Al fresco with those views! The pool was a welcome treat, and oh those views. We will be back!

We were very disappointed that our room was not facing the river which was the attraction. I think the hotel needs to make that clear when they book the rooms. I didn't drive all that way to have coffee looking at orange trees. However, with that said, let me tell you the positive side. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was great, and the grounds are lovely. Bar staff understands wine. But whoever told them that lime ruins a good gin and tonic is nuts. lol
