Los Almendros 37 gives ample space for families or couples looking for oceanview/oceanfront accommodations without the high price tag.  Enjoy beautiful views, a private covered terrace, and just a few steps to one of the community pools ... all just a 3-minute walk from the beach.

We manage over 100 vacation rentals in the area, so our hosting style is a little different than that of an individual host. During your stay, you’ll be supported by a dedicated team to ensure everything runs smoothly.

This condo sits in the oceanfront development of Los Almendros, just steps from the soft sand of Playa Ocotal.  The development has several common pools and is just down the beach from the famous Father Rooster restaurant.  You are just a 10-minute drive to the downtown of Playas del Coco where you'll find several supermarkets, fruit vendors, and more restaurants, bars, and shops to count. Enjoy a walk along the beach boardwalk or stroll the beach from point to point for a 3km walk. Many scuba diving, sport fishing, and sightseeing tours depart from Playa Ocotal and Playas del Coco. You’re also close to several area day trip spots – waterfalls, hiking, hot springs, and mud baths, cultural experiences, and river tours. Guanacaste Airport (LIR) is a 40-minute drive.

Guests will be most comfortable with a rental car or golf cart for their stay, which we can assist with!  While it is walkable around Playa Ocotal, most shops and restaurants are located in Playas del Coco. We do not recommend this home without a rental car or private driver.

We had a great time at Los Almendros! Easy walk to a quiet beach, good restaurant and 3 nice and quiet pools on site. There are a lot of stairs to get up to the condo we stayed in from the beach and pools, so keep that in mind if you have any physical limitations. The management was so helpful and communicative! Would definitely recommend this location.

This place is peaceful and has a superb location. Only about a 2 minute walk to the beach and in a gated community. The guards actively watch over things during the night. With only a few min drive to Coco, you can rent a golf cart and zip to Coco where there are so many local shops and grocery stores the beach. It's a lot of fun, views are spectacular, 3 pools to choose from and clean accommodations. Definitely recommend!!

Great Patio View

The unit definitely is in a great location with easy beach access. There are fold out beach chairs stored in the spare bedroom. The beds and furniture were clean and comfortable. We did have issues with two of the air conditioners and a showerhead that were quickly remedied after a call to the management team. There was some noisy construction at one end of the complex on every weekday. I believe they are building stairs from the parking area to the pool.

This apartment exceeded our expectations. The property manager, Jennifer, and her entire team was helpful from the word go. It was easy to reach the apartment. The walk to the beach was easy. The pools in the complex were clean. The apartment was immaculate and very nicely decorated. Everything was perfect and we would certainly recommend it and/or come again! We were there with our three kids- 21, 24 and 25 and they too had a fabulous time and said this was the nicest accommodation we have ever booked.

Costa Rican Adventure

We rented Los Almendros 37 for the entire month of February. Our group was two couples, over 65. Rich Coast was great in that they responded quickly to any questions we had and were very professional. Thank you Bryan and Chris for all your assistance. The condo itself is as described on VRBO, and the pictures are accurate. Nearly every day we heard and saw Howler Monkeys, along with a variety of birds. We usually saw iguanas on our walk to the beach which, while short, does involve walking down and up some fairly steep steps. The beach itself is lovely and we did snorkel, but the water was a bit cloudy. Father Rooster's restaurant is about the only place to eat in Ocotal, but the food we thought was good. Grocery shopping and just about everything else requires a trip into Coco. We decided not to rent a car, so for part of the time we rented a golf cart. The road to Coco from Ocotal is used a lot, and it's not in the best state of repair. We took several trips into town in the cart, but each time was a bit of an adventure. We would have rented a cart longer, but none were available We'd advise if you don't plan on renting a car, reserve your golf cart when you book your stay. We booked a rainforest tour and the Diamonte Echo Adventure Park both through Rich Coast. Thank you Kerri so much for helping us plan activities during our stay. The only thing we suggest as an improvement is to get a new couch and chairs for the condo living room. We found them very uncomfortable.

Ocotal Hidden Gem

We were extremely satisfied with this VRBO in Ocotal. The VRBO is nestled on a hillside overlooking the bay. The views from the porch are amazing. It is a short walk down to the beautiful beach and a close walk to a nice restaurant called father Roosters. The VRBO had everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was well kept and clean, everything worked just fine and the commute into Play Del Coco by car is short. A great place for families or couples.

Lovely beach location

Nice, well-equipped place. Easy walk to the beach. Good snorkeling off the beach - we saw rays, turtles, octopus, and more. Great sunset views from the balcony. A car is good idea to drive to town as there are no shops close by. We were not expected by the facility upon arrival so that took some time to sort out. The AC in the main room of the house was also quirky. We had to have it fixed twice since it would not turn on and once fixed it still did not cool very well but we did not want to have to deal with any more repairs while we were on vacation. Bedroom ACs were great. Water pressure was great. Ceiling fans in all the rooms were appreciated.

Staying here was the RIGHT choice

Pictures of the view from this place cannot capture the beauty. There is a pool right under the window where you can relax, swim, soak, and still see the ocean and the boats. The beach right there is pleasant with fewer people and the best snorkeling. Renting a golf cart made our 4 days here much more fun. Our host is kind and she provided everything making our stay a joy. We got the best sleep in these comfortable beds.

The pictures don’t do this property justice. It’s bigger than we expected and way more amenities than expected. There are kids water wings, snorkels, water shoes, weights, yoga mats, sarongs, adult life jackets, inflatable floaties for the pool, sand pail and an assortment of other sand toys. We are cooks and there was an abundance of spices
couldn’t list them all here. We rented a golf cart and the ride into the grocery store in Coco was a delight. We got our staples at Super Compro (costa rican owned) and our fruit and veggies at the last fruit stand on the way back to the condo
they were the nicest, had the freshest fruit and were the most reasonably priced. The beach is amazing at Ocotal. I almost don’t want to rave too much about it cuz it’s a “best kept secret”. We tried the beaches in Coco and Hermosa and Ocotal was the best in our opinion. The pools are clean and warm and quiet. The wildlife was incredible to watch. Lynn, the host, answered my many questions before we arrived and was warm and helpful. We would love to Los Almedros if we could!!! Thank you Lynn!!

Fabulous relaxing beach stay with a spectacular view!

We spent four nights at the condo over spring break as part of our first trip to Costa Rica. As this was our first trip, we didn't know what to expect, but Playa Ocotal was beautiful. The condo is at the top of the complex and has a panoramic view of the bay - ideal for sunrise and a fresh cup of Costa Rican coffee. The condo offered everything we needed: comfortable beds, good AC, and a well-equipped kitchen! Playa Ocotal is a small bay that never felt crowded, even during a holiday week. The water is warm and clear with slight waves, perfect for young kids, snorkeling, etc. There is one restaurant which serves lunch and dinner. We didn't cook while there, but we stopped by and got fresh baked goods and fruit for the mornings for breakfast. Lynn was very accommodating and quick to answer any questions. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect location and condo!

We loved the condo. Excellent layout. Covered parking and walk to the door, which can be very helpful in the rain. An amazing view! Sunsets are spectacular. Morning coffee with a view to follow. The kitchen is well appointed Check for spices before you go shopping, they might be in there. The master bed was extremely comfortable. The Almendros staff was very friendly and helpful. Shout out to Carlos! Both Carlos'. The closest trail to the beach takes you to the north end, which had the best snorkeling of the entire trip. The south end has good snorkling also, but the water was more murkey from silt/ sand. Beautiful black sand beach, and Father Roosters. Trips in to Coco are easy, once you get used to driving in CR. Panomar is the place to go to for seafood that you will cook. We had parrot fish and shrimp. Both excellent. We didn't get to the MegaSuper, but found that the Chinese grocery had the most US types of food and staples. All of the grocery stores are a great experience, but sometimes you just want something a little more familiar. Ron Ron was one of our best vacations ever!
