This garden level apartment is part of one of the oldest homes in Savannah, formerly known as the William J. Spencer House. The stunning multi-story 1880s Italianate residence erected sometime between 1799 and 1809, as a two-story Federal Building. You'll be in an unbeatable location, close to so many outstanding restaurants, coffee shops, and attractions. Enjoy staying on one of Savannah's oldest Streets beneath the sweeping Oak Trees!

This vibrant apartment boasts with space and historic charm. Upon entering, you'll step right into the gathering room, which is furnished with an ample amount of comfortable seating. The plush sofa converts into a sleeper sofa for additional sleeping accommodations, or perfect for families with young children. The kitchen is quaint, but is fitted with all of the modern day conveniences one could ask for, perfect for short-term or long-term stays!

The spacious bedroom is at the back of the apartment, fitted with a king size bed, large closet for all of your belongings, and an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom features a large vanity and tub-shower combination.

You’ll be steps away from the city’s most sought after attractions – bustling River Street, Broughton Street shopping, Telfair Museum, Savannah Theatre, the Cathedral, Forsyth Park and more – are all within easy walking distance.

Parking for this home is on-street and metered, with enforcement by the City of Savannah Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm. Guests may conveniently pay using the ParkSavannah app, feed the meter or parking kiosks directly, or utilize a nearby public parking garage. Pre-paid visitor parking passes are available for purchase at the Parking and Mobility Services office. Please take note of posted Sweep Zone signs when parking on the street.

It was so beautiful and cozy and perfect walking distance to downtown. The shower took about a minute to warm up but once it did it was wonderful and there was shampoo and soap. The place was bigger than we expected and there was plenty of on street parking. Bed was super comfortable too.

It was the perfect place for our long weekend together in Savannah. Everything was just as the picture showed. It was convenient to downtown Savannah and River Street. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable. We will definitely be back.

This place is worn with lots of deferred maintenance. It's got peeling paint, rusted air vents, a terrible shower head and canned lights that need to be flattened against the ceiling. It takes multiple flushes to get stuff down the toilet. The kitchen is tiny (no dishwasher, but housekeeping will give you pellets for it), fridge is old and freezes food, and the washing machine isn't level (known issue since they've put a board under it in an attempt to level it), so it violently walks the floor during the spin cycle. Bed covering in the photos is not on the bed. Plastic shower curtain isn't clean and needs to be replaced. That said, the location is convenient. It was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. This wasn't up to our standards, but it's more affordable than units closer to the river.

Great Location, but...

My wife and I stayed for three nights. The location is fantastic. It is short walk to the river and the entire downtown Savannah area. However, the actual unit is dated, needs a coat of paint, & a bunch of TLC. The bed was somewhere between manageable and less than comfortable. There is a washing machine in the unit, but don't use it. It's nowhere near balanced, and will lock shut without finishing cycles. The hot water get tepid, at best, in the bathroom. After contacting the owner, apparently the secret is to run the tub/shower for a while before the water will get hot in the sink or shower/tub. Overall, it is very much a 2-star accommodation in a 5-star location.

This property is an excellent, very reasonably priced, no frills option for the Historic District. Close enough to walk to the night life without being steeped in noise all night long. Close to Forsyth Park as well.

Good location but not maintained and is dirty

Walkers Paradise to let people have enough information in order to help make a decision about whether to rent this place. First, the location is ideal. You can park your car at the State Street garage (just a couple of blocks) and leave it for the duration of your trip (there is a place to unload in front of the apartment and if you want to pay higher parking fees, you can park on the street near the apartment). It is easy to walk everywhere and feels safe while walking even in the late hours. It is across the street from the police department, which for me was a bonus. I did not think it was loud at night so I wasn’t bothered by noise when going to sleep. The check in was easy as there is a code to the door that is easy to operate. Now for the downside: 1. When we arrived the refrigerator was not working. Turned out someone had unplugged it. The owner came over in short order and figured it out and was very pleasant. 2. There was a very noticeable musty smell that I contributed to the age of the building. At first, I thought the smell might have been a gas leak but they do have a gas detector and a gas leak was not indicated. However, that takes me to point 3. There is a gas stove. I did not cook on it but because of the lack of attention to maintenance overall in the apartment it made me a little leery. With that said, that is really just a personal concern as I am not fond of gas stoves in general because of the safety issues. 4. The couch and chairs were old and dirty. F

NYE stay

We loved the location, accessibility, and parking availability for this unit. The only issue we had was the very strong natural gas smell throughout the entire unit. The natural gas detector in the kitchen even went off during our stay. Also, our checkin time was 4pm and we did not receive the door code until close to 7pm after attempting to contact the company for hours. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Great location with all you need

Pros: PERFECT location. You couldn’t get a better location. Walk to everything and minutes to River street. Kitchen was well appointed as well as bathroom. Plenty of linens and bathrooms supplies. Bed was comfortable. Cons: The unit was rather run down for the price. Furniture was worn, some outlets did not function, paint was peeling away in many places. A few investments in better furniture and a coat of paint would make the unit feel more worthy of the price. Overall I would still stay here again just for the location but hope to see some improvements next time.
