Large enclosed garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture and BBQ. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Set in the village of Flixton, Park Farm and its cottage are situated around a traditional fold yard with farm buildings and fields beyond, where the owner keeps horses. Located on a ‘no through’ road, this semi-detached cottage has been renovated to a very good standard and makes it the perfect place for a peaceful family holiday. You are surrounded by countryside and wonderful walks, such as the Wolds Way which travels past the village across Yorkshire’s best kept secret, the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. There are miles of rolling countryside and an abundance of wildlife, which were the inspiration for the artist David Hockney’s paintings. The village has a very popular local pub a 2-minute walk from the cottage that serves food daily.

The seaside resort of Filey is just 5 miles away with a large, sweeping, sandy beach that stretches for over 3 miles; it is a very traditional seaside resort and much quieter than its neighbours of Scarborough and Bridlington. You are also perfectly placed to visit the North York Moors, the Wolds and the East Coast, all of which can be reached within a short drive. Yorkshire is famous for its market towns and you don’t have to drive far to find them. Malton is the nearest, but you have Pickering, Beverley and Driffield all within a short drive. They all have very busy market days as well as excellent shopping, cafés and restaurants. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is well worth a visit. This birdwatchers’ paradise has thousands of migrating birds and puffins perched on the chalk cliffs. The historic city of York is less than an hour away with its magnificent minster, riverside bars and cafés, cobbled streets and entertainers. No wonder it’s voted every year as one of the top 10 UK cities to visit. For children there is Flamingo Land theme park, Sea Life aquarium, and Alpamare UK indoor water park all just a short drive away. Beach 4 miles. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub 300 yards.

We had a very pleasant week in this well equipped and comfortable cottage which has clean and spacious rooms. Cakes, milk and eggs were provided on arrival by the friendly owners. The cottage itself is in a very good location to visit the local area with much to see and do and Filey being nearby. Would recommend.

We received a friendly welcome on arrival and the accommodation was well up to the standard we expec

We received a friendly welcome on arrival and the accommodation was well up to the standard we expected, with all amenities promised available. Although the cottage sleeps four there were only the two of us as the other parties couldn't make it at the last minute. It was spacious and comfortable with modern facilities and within easy driving distance of both Filey and Scarborough, which was what we wanted. If we have one minor complaint (and it is minor) it is that a better illuminated and more accessible bathroom mirror would have been useful. Otherwise everything was really first rate and we would highly recommend the accommodation. Its just the sort of place you want to come back to after a day of playing the tourist.

A hidden gem!

A beautiful cottage, immaculately clean and presented. With a lovely warm welcome from the owners who couldn’t be nicer. A ideal location for exploring Filey and the surrounding areas. Walking distance to the local pub who do great food. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We had an excellent week in the cottage, using it as a base while visiting relatives nearby. It was spotlessly clean, in excellent condition and felt like we were the first people to have stayed there. We found the cottage spacious and very well equipped. The cottage is attached to the owners' house, but it was very quiet. It overlooks the owners' yard so you get to see the horses coming and going and ducks wandering around while you're having breakfast! The owners are very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive.
