The Location - This modern apartment is located in 'The Shoal'. Situated one street back from popular Shoal Bay Beach and close to many cafes, restaurants and boutique shops. Shoal Bay beach is a good for swimming and you can hire kayaks and paddle boards in the high season of school holidays and at Easter. There are many cycle tracks leading to either Nelson Bay (3km's away) and to Fingal Bay (4km's away).There are also a selection of walking tracks in the Tomaree National Park and to the summit of Tomaree Mountain which offers spectacular views over Port Stephens and the Bay.

The Apartment - The apartment is well equipped and furnished in a nautical style. Entering the apartment your eye takes you to the end of the apartment where the glass sliding doors frame the bay water views. The open plan living area with floating floor boards includes a modern fully equipped kitchen with an island bench, a large double door fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and oven. Beyond the kitchen is a dining area, and then the living area is fitted with a corner lounge and large flat screen TV. The apartment offers ducted air conditioning and wifi. Leading from the lounge area is the balcony with a table and chairs for you to enjoy an alfresco meal while taking in the breathtaking views.

There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and a trundle bed underneath and an ensuite. The other bedroom offers two single beds. The main bathroom offers a modern shower, vanity and toilet and the internal laundry provides a washing machine and dryer.

There is secure parking for one car and lift access up to the apartment. There are definitely smoke alarms at this property.

Please note: Linen and bed makes are provided at this property but guest will need to bring sheets and towels for the trundle and sofa bed or you may hire linen from us.

Please note that there are security cameras installed in the common areas of The Shoal. There are no cameras in individual apartments.

The room was in a great location and moderately kept in good condition. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cutlery and all the linen was nice and clean. The parts that I didn’t like were that the apartment hadn’t been vacuumed prior to our arrival so there was sand all over the floor. They had a vacuum in a closet but it was marked for owner use only. So the only way to clean was to sweep with a broom. Hardly how I want to spend a holiday. Communication with Port Stephens Accommodation is close to impossible. They don’t respond to messages through Stayz and they never answer the phone straight away and return calls the next day which as far as I am concerned is unacceptable for an accommodation host. Lucky we didn’t have any urgent issues. When I called up to mention about the unvacuumed floor they sent me a text message the next day asking to send an email with a photo. Of course you can’t see it, only feel it all over your feet. I gave up and ended up sweeping.

Apartment has lovely views of Port Stephens. It’s very clean. The bedroom with the twin beds has no windows , so the only way to ventilate this room is with the central air conditioning. There are no accessories at all including soap, although there is linen. Great location.

A lovely top floor apartment. Clean, fresh and convenient location with great view of the bay. Undercover parking was wonderful. Just make sure you bring handwashing, body wash, tea , coffee, milk etc and tea towels as these aren’t provided.

A really lovely unit, clean and spacious for our family. Moments walk to beach, shops and restaurants. Very quiet and a really lovely view at all times of the day. Really well priced for a weekend away.

Great location

This apartment was in such a convenient location with a beautiful view. The apartment was nice but there were dust bunnies under the beds, the quilt covers on the single beds were a bit off colour, the lounge was quiet dirty and was supposed to turn into a bed but was broken/off the tracks. There were 3 adults and 3 kids staying here but only 4 towels supplied (after I emailed prior to check in to see if I needed to bring these and was advised that they were supplied). I sent a message via the stayz app and was told the cleaners would bring over the 2 missing towels but they never did. Lucky there was a washing machine and dryer so we just washed and dried the towels as well as using our beach towels for bath towels. But I cannot fault the location and convenience of this apartment, it was amazing!

Great location

The lounge was dirty, the floor hadn’t been vacuumed, the tea towel was that thin it was difficult to wipe anything, the screen door was off its hinge(lucky it wasn’t mosquito time, the plastic chairs outside are very dangerous as they are broken and the garbage bags were very thin (totally useless and there was only 1 green garbage bag!). The place needs some care and needs a few updates to make the stay pleasant and comfortable. The location was great and we loved the 2 bathrooms It was a bit tricky to find we had to ask a few locals to help and then once we got in the car park, the numbers were all over the place. So I had to make a call to check the number to park in and once we found it there was a car in our space! So we were told to park anywhere.

This property was really nice, beautiful spot with walking access to all the local shops and beach and super close to nelson bay. Everything was super clean and fit our needs perfectly. The only negative was in the main bedroom the blind was not at all stopping the sun from coming in at 6:30am very hard ti be able to sleep past then but other wise was fantastic.

Great family apartment

There were 4 adults and 2 young kids that stayed in the flat very comfortably for 4 nights. The flat is in an excellent central location and has stunning views over the bay. Aspects of the flat that we appreciated were the 2 spacious bathrooms, lots of storage ( 3 huge wardrobes), 3 TVs with Netflix, wifi and washing/drying facilities in the flat. On the whole the flat was clean when we arrived but a deeper clean ( vacuuming) under beds wouldn't go astray. Another very useful tip for anyone staying is that there is a switch by the kitchen that seems to control fans in the bathrooms which big left on will be running all night and can be a bit noisy. Overall a great flat for a family holiday- we would definitely stay again.

Apartment is lovely, spotlessly clean and very conveniently located. Did not like the check in process of accessing a shipping container and then getting the keys out of a small locker. Only one set of keys provided and none labelled. The lift broke down on Saturday morning and we (us and other people staying in the same block) had no luck or helpful advice from rental people. Broken lift also meant that we were locked out of our apartment for the duration as there were no keys provided to the internal fire stairs. Not happy. Finally gained access by walking into a real estate agent who brought over countless keys to try on the fire stair exits.
