Hotel is great. They charged us by mistake when we checked in. Realized their error and upgraded us to a villa as an apology. Rooms, hotel grounds, restaurant and service of staff are all top notch.
They do not seem to be well organized. I was looked out of my room for an hour and half with my son. It took 5 guys to come and they still took forever to get the door open. I felt like my son and I were the only two guest and I honestly didn't like that. They kept calling asking if I wanted my room clean. Usually hotels wait for their guest to leave their room and clean it. They don't keep calling asking if you want house cleaning. They I was set up to go to another location (The Covanro Naiwala Veyangoda location) to be close to the airport. Mainly because the hotel did not want to refund me for one night. Which was okay, but was not okay is that their other location had bedbugs. They tried to tell me that it wasn't, but any mattress that has blood spots (reddish stains or caused by bedbugs being crushed when people lay down an don't know they are laying on a bed bug infested mattress. I was with my son as mentioned before and it's no way I was going to allow my son to lay in that bed. I took pictures and the GM tried to convince me that what I saw and took pictures was not what it was. Tried to offer me a suite and I told him absolutely not and left.
Not a 5 star service. We were told our bags would brought to our room, over 4 hrs later they were still sitting in the lobby. Every day went we went back to our room, our room key would not work. You ask information about the hotel and you get a different answer to the same question. Buffet food was mediocre. Very disapointing
A 5-star hotel but in Srilanka standard. Someone invested a lot of money, the finishing standard is far from 5 stars. Food ok but small selection for 5 stars. The internet is terrible. There was a party in the main hall until 3 a.m. and it was impossible to relax.
