Newly constructed of native white cedar, this hand-hewn, dovetail jointed, log home combines plenty of windows and open space with an abundance of hand-crafted detail to create a warm, inviting setting. The house is tastefully decorated, the bathrooms well appointed, and the kitchen fully-equipped.

You can enjoy coffee watching the songbirds and catch a sunrise from the decks, picnic and siesta among the apple trees, enjoy wine and sunset dinner on the screen porch, and end the day with a campfire. This is all possible at Dovetail Acres, an unique Door County Retreat.

Very nice and cozy cabin off the beaten path. Very well stocked with everything you need. Shower a little small but works. 3 Bedrooms good size and comfortable. Plenty of shared living space plus deck and fire pit. Terry the owner checked in to see if we had any questions or issues. Liked the restaurant across the street called Thyme. Wine bar and good food.

Nice, Quaint, older cabin in a very secluded location. Very comfortable. Close to Sister Bay. Great location. Only missed a dishwasher a little. Who wants to eat at the cabin with so many restaurants serving great food.

The perfect vacation

The property was excellent because it is close to Sisterl Bay, just minutes to the heart of town, but it was a setting that was absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect vacation spot because the beauty of nature is there for relaxation and it is close to the center of everything. If you want a true vacation in Door County this is the perfect place

Awesome vacation home!

We had a great time — and hope to stay here again. In particular, we enjoyed the log cabin experience and bird watching on the back patio in the mornings with the perfectly situated bird feeders. The backyard fire pit and short drive to Sister Bay were added bonuses. The property was also clean and comfortable.

Good location, nice private property

Dead bugs could have been vacuumed out of window sills. We had issues with hornets in one of the bedrooms and Terry promptly had someone come out and spray within 30 minutes. Linens were clean, beds comfortable, and wildlife friendly.

Nice property but house issues

My family and I were so looking forward to a nice trip with daughter and family in DC which we love.The description and location of this house we thought would be great! Upon arrival we unpacked and entered the house and immediately saw wasps. We thought maybe a few got in somehow. That was not the case. We continued to kill wasps everywhere especially in upstairs bedrooms . My granddaughter was terrified . This was suppose to be relaxing for our family and was a constant problem. I contacted the owner who did respond and came out and looked around and appeared to be surprised about the issue so scheduled to have someone come out the next day and spray after we left the house. It seemed to be somewhat better for a bit but the issue continued all week . Although the property itself was nice other things surprised me because house was given 10 for cleanliness ?? Not a 10 in my opinion . Constant ants in kitchen sink and counter , dirty dishes I had to clean before use. Fuse popping in bedroom . Sump pump continues to run in downstairs bedroom . Vacation for families are suppose to be relaxing , this was a Christmas present for our daughter and family and was stressful due to this issue. We constantly worried about our granddaughter getting stung and frustrated when coming home everyday to constantly killing wasps. There is a serious problem and they knew it because it appears a review in 2019 same kind of issues . Not at all what we expected for the money we paid.

Property was as pictured
a cool log cabin. I picked this property for my husband. He loves log cabins and we were celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary. Location is close to Ephriam and Sister Bay. All the amenities at the property were good.

Perfect Girls Trip Cabin!

We chose Dovetail for our annual Girls Fall Fest Weekend and we were so happy we did! We did have one very minor setback...the morning of our arrival, Terry went to make sure everything was ready for us and discovered that the furnace had quit. He did everything he could to get it fixed but was unable to get parts. He called me right away to let me know what was going on and gave me some options: he could install space heaters or we could cancel and he'd refund us. We weren't about to miss Fall Fest and our much-needed Girl Time, so we opted for space heaters. We were perfectly comfortable the entire weekend! (Well, I was chilly one morning because I forgot to turn the heater on in my bedroom LOL) The cabin and grounds are beautiful! We watched a trio of deer munching on apples while we drank our morning coffee, wrapped up in cozy blankets on the sun porch to read and have a glass of wine, enjoyed a fire in the back yard fire pit, slept in SUPER comfy beds and overall had a fantastic time. I loved the claw foot tub! And with 5 women, it was great to have two bathrooms and mirrors in the bedrooms! On behalf of my aunts, cousins and myself, THANK YOU Terry for sharing this wonderful place with us! We can't wait to come back!

Location, relaxation, and fun

This was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Just a few minutes away from downtown, beaches and fishing, it is the perfect location to stay. The house was complete with everything we needed, including a Weber grill on the deck and a fire pit in the yard. A true hidden gem in Sister Bay.

Wonderful DC Private Vacation Paradise

We loved the "Little House on the Prairie" log cabin home with all of the comforts. Perfect location and private with beautiful grounds. Terry responded immediately with any of our questions. We will definitely be back!
