There are walking opportunities right from the door including easy river walks, as well as more challenging hill walking. On the way back call in at the local pub, just ½ mile away from the cottage, where good food is served together with a selection of ales, wines and spirits.

Grassington plays host to a Summer Arts Festival where famous singers, poets and authors gather, and if you plan on coming, make sure you purchase tickets for the last night party which is always headlined by a well known artist or band. In winter the town holds the Dickensian Festival which really gets into the spirit of Christmas. The town also has a broad selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, giving you the option of self catering, fine dining or pub grub. The traditional market town of Skipton is just over 8 miles away, and has a Norman castle standing proudly at the head of a broad sweeping high street. Take a canal trip, have a swim in the indoor pool, play golf or simply explore this historic town. A little further afield lies the city of York, The Brontë Country and the Lake District National Park, all within easy driving distance. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub ½ mile.
