Chouette ville de Olafsvik, mais l'hĂŽtel est vraiment impersonnel au possible. C'est un self-checkin comme tous les autres hotels d'Islande. et c'est franchement triste. De nombreux groupes de chinois...
The reception and check-in was complicated and awfull. When we finally arrived to the room it was dirty. We tried to change room and no one ever answer to the phone that you supposed to call when any problem (cause thereâs no one in the hotel) thanks to the two staff people who arrived by chance and finally helped us with the room. The bed are awfull, no comfort at all, same for pillow. The room smell bad too.
be carefull and be ready : it is an hotel without reception, so be sure that you check your mails (and spams folder !) to be sure to have the room access code that is sent one week before. the hotel is conveniently located to visit the snaefells area. there is no kettle in the room but hot water is available in the ground floor.
If this property was less expensive, I wouldâve rated it higher. Drab room with thin towels and small beds. The elevator stops a few inches higher than the floor so I nearly fell stepping out of it. We didnât actually sleep there as I booked us a much nicer place across the street for the same price. We came back in the morning for breakfast which was minimal. The staff barely replenished anything. We got there 20 minutes after breakfast started and didnât have a lot to choose from. I hope they replenished items as breakfast was still scheduled for another 90 minutes. Donât waste your money here. Keep looking.
I stayed at so many hotels and guesthouses along the Ring Road and had heartwarming experiences with the hosts and management everywhere EXCEPT this. The couple in charge does NOT speak any English and is downright RUDE. The phone they give you never works and they are not available. A lady got stuck in elevator and we had to find themfor a long time. Also they don't give clear directions and they keep the reception where tea coffe is locked randomly and you Canncannot ask them the hours .....to get your food from refrigerator, eyc. Very authoritarianism, no eye contact, no smile, very cranky and irritated expression to all the guests. Other guests agree with thos.
This is an ok place but the check in didnât go as easy as they claim . Your told to call and get your code but when we called we just a recorded message saying the phone wasnât available .
Eventually someone showed up and we got the code.
We got stuck in the elevator and when we tried calling the number they provided for help, nobody answered. Our tv wasnât working and you couldnât get in touch with staff at all. Very disappointed in this stay!!
There was no staff for check-in or check-out. We had a problem with the television and had to call a number to get someone to come over. Low season may account for the absence of staff, but the hotel was empty!
Breakfast was good.
Positiv:
Sauberes, ĂŒberdurchschnittlich grosses Zimmer
Negativ:
Keine Rezeption
Great location across street from only restaurant in Olafsvik, clean basic room, great breakfast with fruit, yogurt, cereal, sweets, oatmeal, meats, cheese, etc
