If you are looking to explore the Santa Ynez Valley, Coyote Creek Ranch is located 30 minutes up the mountain from Santa Barbara and could be the perfect escape for you! Just minutes from some of the top wineries, tasting rooms, and world famous horse ranches and located within a few miles of the charming towns of Solvang, Los Olivos, and Santa Ynez.

The space, our peaceful farm retreat is on 5 acres with our horses, goats and dogs. Bring your bikes to explore the countryside, wineries and local towns. Enjoy the grounds on Coyote Creek Ranch whether it's a glass of wine or cup of coffee on the front porch, or watching the sunset and gazing at the horses out your back door. We are nestled right in the heart of things but it feels like you are out in the country.

Coming with family or friends for a special event, we are professional photographers and can help you capture the memories of your trip. Coyote Creek Ranch is a beautiful setting for that perfect photo. Be sure to inquire if you would want photography.

Our stay was wonderful! The house is as charming and clean and welcoming as you see in the pictures. The host communicates extremely well and is very kind and accommodating. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

3.5 stars. The house is lovely and comfortable and the attention given to the decor is topnotch. We appreciated the surrounding area and the nearby park with room for dogs to roam and a darling playground for littles. That said, the house could have used a deep clean. I realize dogs are welcome to stay (and we brought our mini goldendoodle with us), but typical things like kitchen appliances had not even been wiped down. The microwave was particularly soiled. The host was friendly and knowledgeable about the area and provided restaurant and winery recommendations when asked. When we booked the property, we didn't realize that the owners live on site in an attached apartment, and have 7 large dalmatians on property. The dogs were kept penned up (mostly) but on our last morning there, were out and rushed our small dog. Unfortunately 2 of the dalmatians were aggressive and pinned her down and nipped at her. Fortunately we were able to rescue her and she was unharmed, but completely shaken by the experience as were we. If you have large dogs it probably wouldn't have been an issue, but if you have small dogs or children then I'd make sure the owners' dogs are kept penned up.

Home Away From Home

Our family stayed at JD's and Keith's place for 3 nights, and had a wonderful time! My daughter and I ran the Santa Barbara wine country half-marathon (our other adult kids were with us, too), and the home was close to the town of Solvang, as well as in an ideal location to explore other towns. The home's decor is fabulous! Also, JD was quick to respond when we had questions. We did not have time to go to any wineries (we had a 5yo and 1yo with us), but there are many in the area. Loved the animals, and our 5yo grandson especially enjoyed watching the feedings. Thank you, JD and Keith, for your hospitality!

The most amazing hosts and home!

We went for a bachelorette party and it was perfect. Keith and JD were amazing hosts who were so communicative, gave great recommendations, and helped us the whole weekend like bringing more ice, setting up our fire, etc. The home is also in a great location with 7 Dalmatians and horses on the property! Can't recommend this place enough!

Welcomed like family in the wine country!

JD's retreat is a home away from home. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel like family. The home is conveniently and centrally located and boasts well-curated and tasteful decor, complete with some enviable antiques! There's nothing precious about it though--it's inviting, comfortable and inspiring with plenty of room to spread out. Highly recommended!

Perfect for 65th birthday and family reunion

This place is absolutely beautiful and serene. It’s hidden away off a main road and you can really sit back and enjoy the location. Hosts JD and Keith were always responsive, friendly and gracious. Would recommend for any large parties looking for a peaceful stay in the countryside.

Perfect House for Reunion

We loved our stay at JD & Keith’s amazing property. We’re a group of high school friends, all women in our 50s, and their house was the perfect place for our reunion and wine-tasting weekend. The house and grounds are beautiful and had everything we needed. The house is impeccably decorated, has comfy beds and an incredibly well appointed kitchen. Gorgeous property with horses & other animals. The hosts live on site and we’re so helpful and hospitable.

Wonderful place, wonderful weekend

We could not have loved JD's place more. We had 6 adults and 6 kids all traveling together; it was the perfect size for all of us -- plenty of room and we never felt crowded. The bunk bed room in particular was a fan favorite of all 6 kids. The house is stunning and all of the furniture and decor looks like it has been carefully curated over years. The backyard was also a big hit with our crew, especially the corn hole set, bench swing, and firepit, as was the front yard swing. One of the coolest parts was seeing the horses and donkey out grazing beyond the backyard fence. JD was kind, responsive, and accommodating during the entire stay. When we arrived, there was bottle of wine, a cheese plate, and some fresh fruit waiting for us in the kitchen. Our entire group agreed we feel tempted to move to Solvang after our time here! 10/10 recommend and I hope we will be back!

Great stay in wine country

We had a great stay at this wine country home. The owner was helpful and the home was great for my whole family, 6 adults and 2 children. There was a barbecue that we could use which worked out great with traveling with 2 young children. The location was great for getting to markets, downtown Solvang, wineries, and Los Olivos. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great weekend stay!

My friends and I had a great stay here while we were in town for a wedding weekend. JD and Keith were very helpful and kind, and welcomed us as we arrived. The house and grounds are gorgeous. Animal lovers will adore.

The property is beautiful, well equipped and the owner set up a generous welcome. Three well set bedrooms plus a bunk room worked very well for our family of 8 adults and 2 young children. Location was spectacular for a series of wedding events in the area.

Over the moon!

Fantastic property and excellent hospitality. Our expectations were superceded. A short drive to Solvang, Los Olivos, or Santa Ynez. House was spacious with a great flow and energy. Stunning sunset views of the backyard and all their lovely animals. JD was a perfect host! He was attentive, intuitive, warm and kind. And of course, Captain stole the show! Will definitely try to organize a future stay at this property with a group of friends or family. Thank you again JD!!!
