The Basinview lookout was beautifully finished with an emphasis on quality finishes & modern details, the space radiates a luxurious and calm environment. With 2 bedrooms, and a large bathroom this is the perfect place to relax & connect with one another. There is a large deck to sit, sip and relax. The views are spectacular and the location is perfection. With world class mountain biking, hiking and lakes all mere steps from the front door.

The space
The Basinview lookout was completed in May 2026. It is attached to our main home but is very private with separation, extensive sound proofing and your own serene space. It is located in a quiet, highly coveted & upscale residential neighbourhood of Sooke called Saseenos which means sunny land gently rising from the sea. The area is abundant with unspoilt nature & a micro-climate of warm weather. The famous Galloping Goose Trail is just a stones throw distance away providing for some of the best local trail walking & cycling around! Shops & restaurants are generally only a 5-10 minute drive away, though some are even walking distance! The area is peaceful & secluded!

The build itself is a stunning 2 bedroom, one bath home with approximately 900 sq.ft of quality high-end finishes. Lovely Frigidaire Professional Series appliances have been provided to make the guests cooking experience as luxurious as possible. Fully stocked kitchen with all you would need to cook a great meal. Spacious island with bar overhang make a great space for entertaining.A large 200 sq.ft deck for outdoor lounging on your hammock, dining al fresco at the table or star gazing in the evening. A cozy living room complete with a Samsung smart TV. Feel free to sign into your Netflix account or watch freely on the TV guide. Stunning primary bedroom with queen size bed and premium linens. Secondary bedroom with double bunks. Living room also has a sleeper option if needed. Sleep is important, so both rooms have brand new hotel brand mattress’. Expansive main bathroom with access to full laundry.
Throw blankets are provided in each room to keep cozy.
Air-conditioning for those warmer days as well in order to keep you as comfortable as possible.

Throughout the year, enjoy South facing views of the Sooke Basin, East Sooke Hills & Olympic Mountain Range beyond. In the Summertime, look out to a wall of green foliage & birds chirping .In addition, we encourage travellers to bring you hiking poles, bicycle (mountain or trail) to take in the beauty of the Galloping Goose Trail which is accessed at the bottom of the hill. Bring you own kayak or rent it at the bottom of the hill at Rush adventures. Explore the wild nature of the Sooke Basin.Paddle boards can be available upon request. Feeling a little more adventurous? Book a fishing charter and experience some of the best Salmon fishing BC has to offer!

Looking for a great West Coast road trip? Continue along the coast with the Pacific Marine Circle Route for the day. Head to one of the many magical beaches, wood fire pizza place or farm to table restaurant. There is so much to do and see on the lower Vancouver island.
