4 bedroom stone villa with pool and sea views in the Peloponnese, Greece
Villa Miranda is a beautifully restored home with a small private pool sleeping up to eight people with rustic interiors and breathtaking sea views. It is located in the village of Melana in the Peloponnese, a region where the sea and mountains combine. The olive groves, wild herbs and flowers make walking along the numerous tracks with their panoramic views an exhilarating experience. Melana is a peaceful rural village set on the Arcadian hillside overlooking the sea.
Interior Details Villa Miranda is a beautiful old stone house which has been completely renovated. It has three main double bedrooms and other sleeping areas which means it can accommodate up to 8 people. There are two bathrooms: one with a bath and shower and one with a shower unit; a very large open plan lounge dining room and well equipped kitchen. There is of course, hot water, a large fridge freezer, a modern electric cooker. The house has air conditioning and central heating which makes it delightfully comfortable throughout the year.
Exterior Details Villa Miranda has a small private swimming pool, a large patio garden with a BBQ and two terrace areas with breathtaking views of the sea.
A lovely place to stay. An absolute stunning view over the bay across the Aegean sea to the isle of spetses. My wife and me used the place as base to exploring the peloponnes but it absolute lovely to stay there and explore the area. To get to the place is a quite bit of a challenge. A 6 min. Hill walk from the town Square or drive around on the half hill on a bumpy washed out dirt road. Definitely helpful to have an old jeep or something. Not the best for our old Civic. So we desided to take the walk. Elisabeth the owner was very helpful and lovely and we hope to get back in a few years.
Situated in a great location, The villa itself was fully equipped with everything you need for day to day living, but you must understand this property, which is at the top of a mountain village, is simple, but spacious, with a rustic feel. Elizabeth is a great communicator, who is more than happy to answer any questions at anytime, and is always available to support if needed. Pay attention to the directions given to find the house, especially if using the road less travelled that takes you to the back of the property. Itâs a drive that needs calm and confidence, as does the short walk on the sloping path down to the back of house. Whilst it may feel at first like a long way up, itâs worth every effort! If peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle is what your looking for this is a great place to be. The location gives you the best of both the mountains and the sea. There are a plethora of stunning beaches to choose from if you can ever pull yourself away from the sensational unspoilt views from the terrace and the pool at the property. Ideal place for couples, families or friends that are looking for a place to unwind, relax and have a truly peaceful break.
It is a fantastic stay in a beautiful house. The view down from the sun terrace is absolutely unforgettable. Many thanks and the best wishes to our lovely and caring Host Elizabeth. We had an amazing time.
Traditional stone house, in a lovely little village, high above sealevel. The walk up the hill is truly exhausting, but ok we had been warned abaout that upfront.
There is no local co-host on the ground to meet and greet you, so you will have to find your way on your own based on the route description, which has some flaws - in particular the house number was nowhere to be found... Once found, the house offers a spectacular seaview indeed.
On the lower end of the experience: The beds are either very worn out and soft (master bedroom) or very hard and totally unflexible (other bedrooms).
The interior is decorated more in the style of a provencal countryhome than typically greek, so it reminds a little of that Coldplay song: It was all yellow :-) Lots of cushions and carpets give it a cosy feel. The house was very cold when we arrived (night temperature around 7 degrees celsius, inside and outside...) so the first night was truly terrible. The heating features a hidden switch in a bookshelf, which was not mentioned in the house description. We only learned that via whatsapp from the owner on day 2 after complaining about the bitter cold. We were quite annoyed by the quality of the beds, so we decided to not stay for the full 2 weeks we booked (and paid) - we left after 5 days and rented something else, on our own extra costs. Sad, to summarize, but I'd say: There are many better options in the area.
This wonderful house is recommended to anyone looking for authentic accommodation in the midst of a mountain village. The terraced garden with its Mediterranean plants and the refreshing pool make even the July heat bearable. Only rarely is the absolute tranquillity interrupted by the neighing of a donkey or the nightly howling of a few golden jackals. Numerous secluded beaches and villages are within easy reach by car, as are the towns of Tyros and Leonidi, where things are a little more turbulent.
Elizabeth is an extremely friendly and caring host who responds promptly to all requests and has lots of good tips. We thank her very much for her hospitality and will definitely come back.
A colourful, charming house with a very homely feel and stunning views. Great for watching both sunrise and the stars. We enjoyed the area around the house, the local taverna (including its weekend souvlaki nights) and tavernas beside the nearby beaches (we particularly loved Livadi). A daytrip down the Mani peninsula was just about manageable (and definitely worth it), and the town and ruins of Mystra were beautiful. Highly recommended!
