We had a wonderful time at Shining Shire! We chose it for its closeness to Lake Tahoe, pet-friendliness, and space for family. It didn’t disappoint! Besides the basics, we enjoyed the gourmet kitchen, downstairs home theatre, and the sauna. They even had a large pet bed ready for our dog.

Last time I came here, I was really impressed. Hence, I booked this a second time. This time there were multiple inconveniences. The tv remote in the kitchen may need a new battery or it defective, there is a big delay in selecting apps or entering in data. The key lock did not work 3 times while I was there. I had to call twice. The shelf where the plates and bowls are located, the cabinet down came down on my mom's hand giving her a bruise. They hardly had any towels or paper towels. One of the beds in the room sounds like its about to break when you turn there is popping noise. I had planned to put my clothes in the washer from a day at the lake but there appeared to be a build up of black water or mold in the front rubber part of the washer, so I did not feel it would be safe. There was broken pottery and it was still placed on top of the fire place, to me this is a hazard. I was disappointed because I really loved this place the last time I came. I am giving this 3 stars because the area is quiet, the house is beautiful and open so it good for spending time with the family, the bottom shower is the best, it is about a 10-20 minute drive from most places you want to visit.
