Oh how I hesitated to write this review. For the price, it’s “you get what you paid for”. The bathroom sink is in the main room, annoying. The carpet is old and musty, and, well you get the picture. The parking is a challenge, there are strange cement posts at the bottom of the support beams which separate each spot that look like they’ve been hit and scraped by many a guest over the years. On the upside, it’s in an ideal location. They allow dogs but we didn’t hear any barking until about 9am one morning out of the three nights we stayed here. The staff is very nice and the morning coffee was good.

On the positive side the property is within walking distance of a beach, many good restaurants, shopping, and casinos. They are cat and do friendly and parking is plentiful. On the less positive side, the property is a bit run down. Rooms are clean but also dilapidated in some areas. For example my room had an updated bathroom but a very worn out carpet.

I really enjoyed my stay there. Was going to a concert at the Amphitheater and wanted to stay within a mile so I could walk, This was perfect. The room was nice and bed, very comfortable. Shower head was high up for tall people and the stay was wonderful.

Hotel was okay. The door knob was not working and did not lock properly leaving the door open. The lighting fixtures were not working properly and the room was not well lit. The carpet was dirty and uneven, as if it was not installed properly, bulging up in some areas of the room.

Grubby and tired

Pros- Great location for Heavenly, the pool is small but was never too busy and the kids enjoyed it to cool off at the end of the day. The room was large and the beds were comfortable. Free breakfast was okay (it’s was free, so can’t really complain!) Cons- the room and hotel itself was pretty grubby and dirty, and in serious need of some money spending on it, some TLC, a deep clean and a coat of paint. Our room on the ground floor was very dark. The carpet was dirty in the room and communal areas, I kept my shoes on the whole time. The toilet flush was broken when we arrived (this was quickly fixed when we reported it) and it leaked our whole stay (this was also reported). The bathroom was tiny and as with the rest of the hotel, felt grubby. We had a great time in Tahoe, but would not stay here again.

One of My Worst Hotel Stays – Not as Advertised

I travel often, and this was easily one of my worst hotel experiences. The property is not as advertised. No blackout drapes: The listing stated blackout drapes, but the room only had thin blinds. By 6:00 AM, the sun was pouring in, making it impossible to sleep in. I mentioned this to the front desk, and they said maintenance would install blackout drapes but that never happened. Unsafe and poorly maintained: There were nails sticking out from the custom-made decorative headboard. One of the bed lights didn’t even have a bulb, which I also reported, but it was never fixed. Dirty and unpleasant odors: The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but the entire floor smelled strongly of smoke. On top of that, the room itself had a foul odor, like dirty feet. The carpet was filthy and sticky. I expected far better for the price and based on the description provided. This hotel needs serious attention to maintenance, cleanliness, and accuracy in advertising. I will not be returning and cannot recommend it to others.

The good things were the location, the beds and the showers. The bad things were that the building wasn’t clean. Our room was vacuumed but not along the edges. One of the bed lights had no bulb in it and wasn’t working altogether. The elevator was small and you had to wait a long time before it came. The cleaning crew was understaffed and the hallway in front of our room was clogged with carts with dirty bedding. The staff was nice and apologetic but this couldn’t take away our disappointment. We didn’t like the rustic theme either.

Convenient location but poor cleanliness

I chose this hotel for a 2 night Lake Tahoe stay because it was close to our concert venue (10 min walk from Caesar's Republic ampitheater) and within our budget. That's about all I can say to recommend it. The beds were decently comfortable, but the carpeting looked worn and very dirty both in the room and in the hallways. I didn't even want to walk on the floor with my bare feet! There was also a broken wall fixture by the sink which just gives a sense of how much real maintenance has been done on these rooms (probably not a lot). There was a mini fridge in our room but no microwave. We had a couple minor issues during our stay (key cards both stopped working and had to be reprogrammed the second day, towels ran out by the pool, etc) and the front desk staff were helpful both times. But I probably wouldn't stay here again just because the carpet was so nasty looking and it made me worry about how thoroughly the rooms get cleaned. My recommendation: spend a little more money and find a place that has shampooed their carpets sometime in the last decade.
