The good, the bad and the uglyâŠ
The good: The location is excellent. The host was wonderfully kind and accommodating. The farm setting is beautiful with sheep, horses, birds and dogs. There is lots of storage in the property. The bed was very comfortable. The price is also quite fair.
The bad: No central air and there is heat that must be lit with a fire starter. We needed both heating and cooling during our stay. The fridge is small and there is no freezer. The cooker must also be lit with a fire starter (we didnât try it). The hot water is temperamental. There was also no toaster. The property definitely shows its age.
The ugly: The bathroom is flat out awful. Ancient and decrepit. The shower is small and hard to maneuver in. You can see a little bit of ground through the flooring behind the toilet. Some type of black substance appeared to be used to try to seal the gap but it was less than successful. There were soft spots in the flooring throughout the unit but most noticeably in the bathroom.
Overall: Host and location is a 10. Unit overall gets a 5. Bathroom gets a 1.
I do very much want to say how we appreciated the excellent communication and responsiveness of the host. She helped us out on short notice and was very kind.
