This historic motel is well preserved and reasonably priced. I prefer an old independent property instead of a cookie cutter chain. The room was spacious, the beds very comfortable, and the guest amenities were a cut above. The staff was friendly and efficient. The complimentary breakfast offerings were plentiful. Highly recommend!

Very disappointing.

This is a very old “historic“ lodge. Some rooms are newer and others are pretty much original. Looking at the review pictures, they are all of the newer rooms. The old ones are very very basic. The one we got had a window air conditioning /heat pump that would shut itself off if you turned the heat above 72. When it was working it was insanely loud and was never able to heat the room up above the low 60s. We were highly disappointed given the high ratings for this place. I have to assume that all those ratings were people who got the better rooms. The Continental breakfast was a couple week old apples and black bananas and cheap packaged pastries. The staff can not be any nicer and the lodge has a lot of charm. I usually love little places like this and I seek them out for places to stay but this one was highly highly disappointing. Absolutely cannot recommend.

Creative, colourful theme in the room reflective of the 1950's. Comfortable bed and pillows.The windows are all single pane - probably originals from 1949, but the road is not very busy. Decent, simple cold breakfast. Biggest complaint, which is not the Motel's fault, is local restaurants were either closed indefinitely or for Wednesday evenings.

Some nice retro touches but overall a standard experience for the money. A less expansive breakfast than many similar motels, and the absence of fresh milk was a miss. Solid brick walls were appreciated for a quiet stay. Staff interaction was polite and efficient. Would stay again no problem.

This is a great place if you are into the retro style, considering it is classify as a historical loge. The room was large and very accommodating. Continental breakfast was very good. Overall all I would have given it a 5, but I can use a little improvement, particularly with the plumbing.
