The room was poorly cleaned after the previous guest. The bathtub was full of hair. The receptionists wiped out, but it was not enough. There is no confidence that the rest of the room are properly cleaned/disinfected.

Being located right by highway 44 made it a breeze to access Forest Park or straight into downtown. And all the great towns that surround Kirkwood. Wonderful staff made the stay pleasant.

Think twice before booking here

When we arrived to the hotel it was about 4:30pm and the room was not ready. I had to wait in the lobby that did not have air with a tired 2 year old that was just trying to rest. Staff were talking to each-other across the hotel lobby, yelling what room needed to be cleaned. My in-laws had to wait an additional 45 mins and one they were in their room, they had brown water running. They had to use our bathroom for showering and to use the restroom since the hotel was sold out and not accommodating.

Front staff frustrated with guests and showed it upon my arrival. Very short and understandable- rooms not ready at checkin. I had to come back in “an hour or so”. When I returned, I was told it was “good thing you showed up when you did, I almost gave away your room”. That would not have been good!

A mixed bag

This was a mixed bag of a stay. On the positive side, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable, the two most important items for a hotel. Issues? Check in was a problem, I arrived after 2, they were strict on check in being after 3. Which I supposed I could live with, except then the computer system went down so I couldn't check in after 3 either. Check in was after 4. Room did not have a microwave, and refrigerator barely worked. Even putting drinks in the freezer didn't really help (and yes, it was on). Only one trash can in the room, and that was in the bathroom. Ice maker didn't work on 5th floor (which I was staying on) or 6th floor. REAL lack of electrical - no USB ports for phone, lamps had built in plugs but they didn't all work, so had to pull beds away from the wall and unplug clocks and such to charge phones, use C Paps and the like. Some staff were very friendly, others act like you didn't exist. Toilet in bath was "little person/dwarf" height. Good toiletries. Clean common areas, people liked the pool. No housekeeping for multi-night stay. I didn't try the hotel breakfast.

Front desk ‘Manager’(Anthony) major attitude!!! Most argumentative. Over-talks and did not allow for contrary expression for understanding. That caused a scene in the presence of another customer waiting to check-in. Later, his personality was even keeled. Television guide is present, but does not correlate to actual channels. One must guess and try, and try again. Showered in a tub filling with water. Spider or dust webbing on ceiling. Knats flying around. Killed spider inside tub. First room smelled of dampness. Ability to change rooms granted as I did not touch anything. Great location however!!! Anything wanted is within walking distance!!! Pool clean and welcoming. Check-out staff extremely friendly, understanding and down to earth!!! Manager(Anthony) was not present.

Not up to standard for the price.

Took 2 nights to get TV working. Primitive cable and no smart TV. Ended up watching on my iPad every night.Ridiculous in this day and age. Kept having to visit the front desk to get key card working. Staff kept suggesting it was my fault.Would not expect either at a hotel in this price range.

Nice, but not 9.0 nice.

It was ok but not worth the 9.0 / 10.0 received that made me decide to stay there. Solid hotel in a great location. Crew was nice but seemed understaffed. Had issues with key card, with tub drain, given access only to go to room and maid was still cleaning, after a decent wait in a warm lobby. I thought it was expensive relative to room and service.

We have stayed at this Best Western a number of times. While still a solid option at a fair price, the room was not as well kept, furnishings needed replacement, breakfast was not good. The hotel staff is excellent ablnd the attached Chili's is super.
