I stayed here last September and wanted to return as the experience was lovely ! All the staff speak to you and are very helpful and approachable . The food is plentiful and lots of choices . The entertainment was good too !

This is a comfortable and inviting hotel and it's really well placed for beach front and town (town being an enjoyable 10 min walk via Howard Davis Park). Rooms are spacious and the hotel is immaculate at all times. Bars and communal areas are pleasant spaces to enjoy a drink and something to eat. Restaurants are good. Entertainment was good fun. Mostly just did breakfast buffet which had lots of choice and was well presented. We only did one buffet evening meal but it was absolutely fantastic. However, the thing that makes this hotel special is the staff. They are ALL, very friendly, welcoming and polite and it makes it such a pleasant place to be. Well done The Merton. Your staff are an absolute credit to you at all times.

What a great place, very clean, super friendly staff, plenty of parking, amazing shower, nice beds and clean, amazing food/restaurants, brill entertainment including for the kids and nice swimming pool. My favourite thing was that we had family and friends come to visit us, they had dinner and drinks with us at the hotel and were given free parking. Small arcade that kept the kids entertained too. Also really enjoyed listening to the piano player one evening. I would definitely return

Some public areas need attention, particularly overhead blinds/shades in conservatory areas. Think they kud reduce indoor lamp lighting during summer days. Scrambled egg kud do with being cooked longer, always watery. Lack of single rooms Staff extremely helpful.

Great hotel lumpy bed

Lovely hotel caters for everyone and age staff couldn’t do enough great service I had read a few neg reviews and my wife said for the price or the Merton and we would be out a lot it doesn’t really matter well the food was great location great service great only neg was our mattress was clearly well used and was very lumpy I did tell staff when we checked out and they told us they would have changed us rooms personally I could sleep on a window sill lol I would go back to the Merton and probably report the bed if they were very lumpy
