Summary:
Oceanfront at Crystal Cove on Sapphire Beach. Nothing sits between your building and the beach but the resort's lagoon, and the sand is about 300 feet away. Sapphire is one of St. Thomas' calmest, clearest beaches, and the seagrass bed right in front of Crystal Cove is where sea turtles, eagle rays and squid come to feed. Grab a mask and swim straight out.
This 1,100 sq ft, one-bedroom, two-bath condo sleeps four. The primary suite has a king bed and its own bathroom with a walk-in glass shower. The enclosed, ocean-view sunroom works as a second bedroom, with a murphy bed and a privacy curtain. Sapphire faces east, so this is where you'll watch the sun come up over St. John. A full kitchen, in-unit washer and dryer, air conditioning and fast WiFi make it just as easy to stay a week or a month as a weekend.
Power outages are part of island life. A property-wide backup generator is scheduled to be online by December 1, 2026.
Beach chairs and towels are provided, and you'll have the resort pool, tennis courts and gated parking. Sapphire's beach bar, SeaSalt and the beach coffee spot are all a short walk down the sand, and Red Hook's restaurants, groceries and the 20-minute ferry to St. John are about a mile away. No passport needed for U.S. citizens.
The Space:
A one-bedroom with two full bathrooms, so four people share the space easily. The condo is on the second floor of Building C, up one flight of stairs, which gives the sunroom its view over the lagoon to the water.
The primary bedroom has a king bed and its own bathroom with a walk-in glass shower. Off the living area, the enclosed sunroom works as a second bedroom with a murphy bed, and a privacy curtain closes it off. The second full bathroom is just steps away.
The open kitchen has a full range, a dishwasher and an island that seats four, so you can cook dinner or just make coffee and head to the beach. Air conditioning runs throughout, with fast WiFi and a smart TV with cable for nights in.

You'll have the entire condo, with self check-in by keypad. Crystal Cove is gated, with keypad entry for cars and pedestrians and overnight security. Guests have full use of the resort:
- Sapphire Beach, about 300 feet from the building
- Resort pool with lounge chairs
- Tennis courts
- Landscaped grounds around the lagoon
- Free parking in marked spaces
Taxis can't enter the gate, so drivers drop off at the entrance. Tell your driver "SBCW / Crystal Cove," not just "Sapphire," since several nearby complexes share the name.
The Neighborhood:
Crystal Cove sits on the East End, the quieter side of St. Thomas, on the calm, clear water of Sapphire Beach. Snorkel the seagrass right out front for turtles and rays, or swim to the reef along the rocky point for parrotfish, trunkfish and brain coral. Look across Pillsbury Sound and you're looking at St. John.
Walk down the sand to:
- Sapphire Beach Bar: happy hour, live music on Sundays and a monthly Full Moon Party
- SeaSalt: dinner over the water and Saturday brunch
- Beach coffee, pizza, and cabana, chair and snorkel gear rentals
A short drive away:
- Lindquist Beach (Smith Bay Park): a protected, undeveloped beach about a 15-minute walk or 2-minute drive away
- Coral World Ocean Park and Coki Beach: about 5 minutes
- Red Hook, about 1 mile away: restaurants, bars, Moe's Fresh Market, American Yacht Harbor, and charters and ferries to St. John and the BVI
- Magens Bay: about 20 minutes
- Charlotte Amalie: about 20 minutes
Winter trade winds bring kiteboarders and windsurfers to the bay, and calmer summer days are best for snorkeling.
Getting Around:
The airport (STT) is about 25 minutes away by taxi. Shared taxis are priced per person, and there's no Uber or Lyft on the island.
You don't need a car for beach days. A taxi stand is a short walk away at the beach club, and Dollar Safaris (open-air shared taxis) run cheap flat-rate routes to Red Hook and Charlotte Amalie. The ferry to St. John leaves Red Hook about every hour and takes about 20 minutes. Ferries to the BVI also leave from Red Hook; bring your passport for those.
The road to Red Hook is narrow and winding, so we don't recommend walking it; take a safari or taxi. If you rent a car to explore, parking at Crystal Cove is free.
