This idyllic 2-bedroom, 2-bath lakefront retreat on scenic Staffordville Lake accommodates up to 6 guests (4 beds - 1 queen, 1 bunk bed, 1 double), offering an unforgettable experience for your family. Enjoy breathtaking views from the cozy living area or the private deck. Kayak (2 included), swim off the floating dock, stargaze, grill out and enjoy your coffee on the deck! Separate workspace and free Wi-Fi for those working from home. Perfect for Brimfield Antique attendees. This is a private home, available to enjoy. It is built on a hill, though, so it does require steps down to the house and more steps down to the decks and lake. This space is no smoking, no pets and no parties. Due to the steepness of the inside stairs and the number of stairs to/from the house and lake, I don’t recommend this space for toddlers or very young children.
Guests access this home by a door code on the front door. Once inside, the decks can also be accessed through the downstairs slider. Guests can access all of the finished parts of the house plus use the washer dryer in the unfinished part of the basement. Kayaks, a swimming dock (seasonal), and a charcoal grill are available for your outdoor usage. Star gazing is encouraged! Indoors you will find games to play and high speed internet for working or streaming your favorite shows/movies (streaming services are the responsibility of the tenant). A fully stocked kitchen will allow you to cook Michelin star meals and cocktails for all. The kitchen includes a coffee pot (drip) with filters, toaster, dishwasher, microwave oven, full stove and oven and many more amenities such as a waffle maker and blender. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and armoire and overlooks the lake. The second bedroom has a double bed and twin bunk beds for a total of 4 separate beds. There is a full bathroom upstairs and a full bathroom downstairs by the work space/reading nook/doors to the deck. This home is ready for you to drop in, relax and enjoy the lake and beautiful New England views! The only rules we have are: no parties, no smoking inside and no pets (we have external cameras). Book now for a relaxing stay!

Pros:- kitchen is clean and well-equipped- beds are very comfortable- host was quick to respond to initial questions- parking was fine- huge decks overlooking the water are lovely- Washer/dryer was great to have- Host provided more than ample soaps, towels, TP, etc.Challenges:- Off-season, this area is pretty isolated - not a criticism, just helpful to know- The inside stairs are honestly scary - more like a ladder- Lighting throughout the house is dim- The couch cushions are pretty spent, unfortunately- Kitchen has a high-top table and only 3 chairs - fine for 2-3 people, but more would be tricky- Downstairs is unheated and didn’t seem like cleaners had attended anything but the bathroom- 2nd bathroom is downstairs - very tiny step-up/low ceiling basement bathroom. It was clean and fine, but unsafe to get to at night, between the steep steps and lights that were out- Outside steps are numerous and steep, which the host is very clear about. Loose railing could use attention.Overall, our stay was fine. We appreciated the hospitality. The house is clean and set up decently for a small number of adults/teens. In fairness, we were here on a rainy/snowy off-season weekend, so did not get to utilize the expansive decks. I am sorry to have to say I would be pretty terrified of bringing little children here, unfortunately, but the host is very clear about the steps and steepness. They’re no joke!

It’s a very pleasant spot. The place was in great condition and was very clean. There’s more parking than advertised. 4 full size cars fit easily in the parking area, and there is space for 2 additional vehicles if parked parallel to the street.

Everything was just as advertised. Clean, comfortable beds, good shower,plenty of cookware. Lake was clear and great for swimming, kayaking and fishing. Owner communication was great. All in the party agreed we would stay here again if in the area.

As described. We were pleased to find the extra dishes, pans, cooking utensils, and serving trays, and made use of the large fridge, versatile convection oven and the large capacity w&d. The roomy outside decks and steps all felt secure and safe, and the outside furniture was very comfortable to lounge by the lake. Inside steps are steep but manageable. Kayak launching and swimming were a bit tricky at the shoreline but the lake was generally delightful - I would recommend water shoes. Mattresses were rated as comfortable and there were extra blankets, although we didn't need most of them in the August heat. We used the charcoal grill and there were plenty of grill tools available. Make sure to look in the laundry room for grill supplies and leftovers before you buy more lighter fluid. Parking was level and marked for the property.

This property was perfect for our week by the lake. It was lovely and relaxing. The only thing I wasn’t clear about when we booked the property were how many stairs there were since it is built into the side of a hill. I would definitely book it again and the host was kind and easy to communicate with.

We had a nice stay overall and appreciated that the home was clean where it mattered most—especially the bed, bathrooms, and kitchen. Everything we needed for our time there was available and functional. We really enjoyed the kayaks and floating rafts. Being able to get out on the lake is a nice perk. That said, the house could benefit from some general maintenance and a bit more attention to detail. A fresh coat of interior paint, and a power wash for the deck and house would really help the place shine and feel more inviting. With a few updates and a little extra care, this rental has the potential to be a truly great stay.We’re grateful for the hospitality and hope our feedback is helpful for future improvements.

A wonderful get away

My extended family stayed here over the Easter holiday weekend. The place was extremely clean and cozy. Beautiful decks and my daughter even her first fish of the season. Highly recommended and is advertised extremely well. Our host was very responsive and respectful of our privacy.

Quick getaway

The main floor is laid out well and very cozy. Kitchen is well stocked with plenty of workspace. We were worried about having space to eat, but were able to fit the 5 of us around the table with no issues. As described the stairs both inside and out are “interesting” but we didn’t have any issues. It was extremely cold and rainy when we arrived but the stairs had been cleared as well as possible and there was plenty of ice melt for us to use the next day when the weather cleared. The view is amazing and I’m sure even better during the warmer months.
