The Firefly Cottage

This century old cottage, updated with modern comforts, is perfect for a long or short stay. Minutes from downtown Staunton or Interstates 81/64. Relax, stretch out in four rooms, get some laundry done. Enjoy the peace of the rural setting. Queen size bed, large shower, fully equipped kitchen with dishes, cooking utensils, range/stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Washer and dryer. Private parking. All varieties of people are welcome here.
The space
Enjoy this private fully renovated four room cottage. Relax on the balcony, walk the grounds, enjoy the sounds of trickling waters of the lily pond just outside your window. Hike to the hilltop and see for miles around. Enjoy visting with our pigs and chickens.
You're just minutes from downtown, or the interstate.
TV with Netflix, Hulu and internet TV networks like Pluto. Keurig coffee maker.
Guest access
Guests may enjoy the yard adjacent to the entrance to the cottage, and with a little guidance from us, a hike up the hill to a great view of the area on our groomed hiking trails.
Other things to note
Because this a family farm that starts early, we cannot have check ins after 10pm.

Perfect little cottage getaway

We loved our stay on the farm in the cottage. The cottage was super cozy, clean, and bright. Well equipped. Hosts were very nice. We loved the farm and thought the animals were hilarious. Great location and very convenient to downtown and to hiking.

FANTASTIC VRBO! Perfect Location, and Awesome Host

Loved the privacy of the stand alone cottage "down on the farm." Was perfect to get around the entire area and see all the sites. Everything was an easy drive, and downtown Staunton was like 5 minutes away for anything you needed from restaurants, Walmart, Historic Downtown with the shops, but you felt like you were in the quiet, peaceful country.Unit was adorable and well appointed with everything we needed, and was cleaned and taken care of well (especially considering how old the place is!)Our host was great! Met with us at check in and gave us the lay of the land and responded quickly to a couple text questions during our stay. We were able to feed some of the animals and loved every minute of our 4 night stay. Slept like babies!Highly Recommend this Property!

we enjoyed staying at the Firefly Cottage. The place inside was clean , comfortable, and affordable. The only issue was the picture of the outside of cottage in the ad did not match outside currently. outside porches needed some work. we loved the animals. overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Farm stay

I personally prefer the sounds of the occasional animal to a car or person, so this was just what I was looking for and yet super close to Staunton. Katie was very responsive to a few questions I had and everything went smoothly. The perspective from the top of the property also provides a nice view of VA foothills. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful hosts and property

Quaint and quiet property. Convenient to Staunton, yet away from the traffic. Perfect spot from which to get to downtown for shopping, dining, etc., and also easy access to the interstate. Highly recommend.

Lovely farm cottage

Love, love, love the Firefly Cottage! It's cozy, quaint and quiet. Love seeing all the farm animals in the morning while I have my coffee. Katie and her family, who own and live on the property, are great. I have stayed there two times and am definitely planning on returning this summer. Just right for one or two people who are looking to get away to a country setting and truly relax and leave your cares behind in the big city!
