Great stay for our group. We appreciated all of the space and the convenient location. Lots of amenities which made for easy cooking and comfortable sleeping (incl fans in the bedrooms). We were disappointed the hot tub was not working but there are shared hot tubs in the development. Highly recommend the recently renovated hot springs in town!

Large family

The property is nice and spacious. Everything worked fine, except A/C. The kitchen was great and well stocked. We had a leaky bathroom and it was fixed the next day, so maintenance was great. Love the location and area!

Overall it was ok

Former reviews are correct. The property could use some serious renovations. Wallpaper is peeling, carpets are stained. Some cabinet doors are falling apart. Kitchen needs a new refrigerator. The thermostat was quite tricky to maneuver. While repairs would be great, none would prevent me from renting here again. However, other issues would. Read below. PROS: The best thing about the property is its location. Only a short walk to ski lifts. That was very convenient. We also enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of skiing. The basement space was nice for the younger adults to hang out. And the kitchen was well equipped. CONS: Upon entering the property, we noticed the cleaning crew left cleaning items laying around and we found a full load of dirty towels and sheets on basement floor. It was as if they hadn't finished prepping the space for our arrival. We had a leak in kitchen sink one afternoon, making it impossible for us to use it. We called maintenance and reported it but no one came to fix it. We waited all afternoon with no response or call, so we finally had to do it ourselves. Luckily someone in our party was able to repair it and we could use the sink once again. It's a little much to expect guests to make repairs though. One afternoon a maintenance person entered the property using the garage code without any warning that he would be coming by. I was surprised to suddenly find a strange man in the hall. I would expect a heads-up or at least a knock at the front door before a stranger barges in. Owners keep a small refrigerator in basement full of beer with a note stating guests are not to touch. We had several minors in our group and I didn't appreciate having to keep track of the beer or safeguard it for the owners. For the prices we're being charged, I'd expect full use of the property. Owners can either buy beer upon arrival or lock it up so guests don't have to be concerned with it. Overall, I would give the property a 3.5 rating.

Fantastic Place for Families

We absolutely loved our stay at this townhome! The kitchen was very well equipped, enough of everything to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for ten! There were plenty comfortable beds and bathrooms. The hot tub was the highlight! Skiing was within walking distance with optional shuttle and the ambiance of the neighborhood was charming! We will definitely be renting here again! Note for Retreatia: One dish towel is not nearly enough for kitchen clean up after a large group eats. Also, a dishrag is a must, not just a small sponge. We ended up purchasing both in town.

Invest in yourself...

The property and unit itself are great and the hot tub was perfect. However the oven and fridge are dated. The oven only works on broil and the fridge and freezer were at the bare minimum of cold respectively (took 2 days to freeze water, temp was on codest). Renteria was great in getting someone out, but I believe there's no easy fix for the issue. Also, the carpet was a concern prior to visiting due to previous reviews. And although it seemed vacuumed and things were clean, it needs to be replaced. Definitely gave the place an unclean feeling.

Dromore Chalet

Retreatia was great. The property location was great. The shuttle service was great. The actual property could use some updates for the amount of money it rents for... I would definitely use Retreatia again and I would look for something in this location.

Dromore Chalet in Steamboat Springs

Pros: Great location! Close to shopping and activities. Walking trail and creek nearby was great for kids. Enough space/rooms/bathrooms for family of 9 (6 adults, 3 kids). Spacious deck with hot tub and patio table and chairs. Could have used an umbrella for patio table though. Neighbors friendly and helpful. Cons: Stained, dirty, and gross carpet. Had to lay down blankets so the kids could play on the living room floor. No air conditioning!!! We turned it on but could never get the place to cool down. Upstairs bedrooms were like saunas!! Had to keep doors and windows open all night to sleep. Not a toddler (5 yrs and under) friendly place. Too many breakable nicknacks and sharp metal edges. Parking was complicated. Instructions say one car in the garage and two in the driveway. But when you’re sharing a driveway with 4 other units you’re constantly playing musical cars with the neighbors. Neighbor finally let us know there was overflow parking across the street.

Lots of beds

We enjoyed our stay in Steamboat. Downtown was very crowded, so it was actually nice to be staying at the ski area instead (the map on vrbo lists this property as being downtown, but that is just the Retreatia office). There was plenty of room for the 11 of us to stay in this townhome, and we enjoyed the private hot tub. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and cooking gear. The property could use some minor repairs and updating- several small things were falling apart. But management responded quickly to our concerns.

This place is perfect. The townhouse is well set up, cozy, and has everything I could ask for in a mountain home. I would definitely stay here again if I head back to Steamboat.

Pictures do not match the quality

The weekend was still a blast in Steamboat but we were very disappointed in the rental property. We came in and immediately had an issue with the internet, I called during business hours, got to answer and left a message. I received no call but a man walking in hours later yelling maintenance. I was coming to the door to had yelled from downstairs we got it fixed and he was out the door long gone before I got there. The place was dirty, the carpets have so many stains as well as the walls with dirt and odd markings. The bunk beds squeaked SO bad that nobody in that room slept and was fearful it was going to fall apart. The carpet was the biggest shock of all to me, I felt gross walking around. I'm a 30 something female and am not anywhere near a clean freak but the property was far from what I'd expect from a rental.

Our family, extended family, and friends enjoyed time together at the Dromore Chalet. People loved the intimate atmosphere and the ability to share meals at the Chalet. A friend asked abuout how to take advantage of this opportunity for his family.
