Along with a restaurant, there's a snack bar/deli on site. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. Public spaces have free WiFi. A terrace, an arcade/game room, and a garden are also featured at The Portpatrick Hotel by Compass Hospitality. For a fee, parking is available.
Staff amazing very cheery and welcoming car park slopes a lot so does my room floor particularly the bathroom only to be expected in an older building surroundings outwith car park very overgrown doesnât look good but all in all very enjoyable stay
The hotel and staff were excellent they did their very best. However it is GROSSLY understaffed. and it shows. I felt particularly the resteraunt service was very slow just because it was understaffed. They did there best but were stretched. Tea & coffee were served in identicle pots and the crosover flavours were obvious
Unfortunately we had no hot water in the shower. The TV was not working properly and the windows were jammed shut. A member of staff pleasantly tried to sort the hot water issue but we only achieved a warm temperature.
Maybe we got off to a bad start seeing all the signs instructing us to pay for car parking on arrival. This is not welcoming.
Staff friendly and helpful tho woefully undermanned, every staff member seemed to have 2 or 3 jobs.they were excellent despite the pressure.
Booked unto a"superior" double room ,it certainly was not.
The room we were moved to was lovley a great improvement.
One thing that stuck in my throat the new parking policy: to pay almostÂŁ150 a night and then to b charged to park at the hotel is quite frankly digusting, especially as it is subject to dynamic pricing.
I would b reluctant to stay here again solely because of this issue
Lovely setting on the water. Must pay for parking; our room is basic and could use bedside electric outlets. The toilet seat is broken and slides around. The place could use a bit of updating.
Fabulous location, good food, nice staff.
Bedroom door had terrible squeak, saw the handyman and he said he would fix it, but didnât! In the morning took a long time to check out as the computer would not upload, it was 9.30! Parking ÂŁ6.50 a night, not stated on the bookingđ
We received a warm welcome from the person on reception. It was also very hot inside because all the radiators were on full blast in May. The hotel is impressive but showing signs of age with creaking floorboards and flaking paint. Breakfast was fine and the staff were nice. Parking is not free for guests but plenty of free spaces in town.
Great place for taking your dog lots of walks nearby. Even a separate dinning room that you can take your pet into when at breakfast. Great views over the harbour. The only downside would be the evening dinner menu could be a bit more exciting and maybe a specials choice so as not the same menu each night.
