Penthouse Duplex with a stunning views from Terrace and Balconies

Three bedrooms, two bathrooms apartment on the top of the house with large terrace and two balconies. Air-conditioning and high speed WiFi.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor. No lift.

This stunning conversion of a 16th Century convent is located in the historic center of Sulmona.

The large terrace is the jewel of this stunning apartment. Without any hint of exaggeration the views from here are simply breathtaking. You will enjoy magical evenings overlooking the beautiful mountains of the National Park of Majella and the roof tops of the historical center of Sulmona. This apartment has been furnished with modern furniture. The modern kitchen and dining room (large table and six chairs) are conveniently liked to the terrace where we also have a large table with 6 chairs, a coffee table and second sitting area to relax on this wonderful space. There are three bedrooms in this apartment. On the top floor there is a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (air conditioning). In the floor below of this duplex, there are two bedrooms (one with air conditioning) sharing a bathroom. A beautiful air conditioning living room with balcony and study area complete this stunning penthouse.

Stunning views from rooftop deck

The location of this property in Sulmona is great for getting around to nearby cities (we had a car), walking to restaurants and/or stores or just for an evening pasegiatta along the main street and piazzas. It’s a great, walkable town with wonderful, friendly locals that make you feel right at home. The wifi in the unit is great! Victor is a wonderful, responsive, and thoughtful host and guide to the city. We were lucky to get to know him during our stay. (If you plan to stay for an extended period, as we did, there are a few maintenance issues that need to be addressed, all of which Victor is aware of and will resolve. However, none of these put a damper on our visit!)

Sulmona una piacevole sorpresa

Vacanza di una settimana con amici per visitare l'Abruzzo. L'appartamento, su due livelli, ha una terrazza spettacolare dove, nonostante le alte temperature diurne, si gode di un'aria piacevolissima al mattino e la sera e del silenzio. Posizione centralissima dell'appartamento al terzo piano di rampe di scale non proprio agevoli. Molto attento e gentile il proprietario.

Location bellissima, posizione nel centro di Sulmona a pochi passi dalla piazza principale, parcheggio gratuito a poche centinaia di metri dalla casa. L'appartamento Ăš disposto su 2 livelli con tre camere da letto e 2 bagni. Arredamento moderno bellissimo dotato di tutti i comfort ed elettrodomestici. Terrazza molto bella con una vista bellissima sulla citta e sui monti del parco nazionale della Majella. Proprietario molto gentile, cortese e disponibile.

Great location for exploring Abruzzo

We (a group of one couple and two singles) thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay in this 3-bedroom apartment. Other travelers did mention the steep stairs both up to and within the 2-level apartment, so we were prepared (they are indeed steep). . Also the parking is 3-5 minutes away (uphill to and downhill from the building) as others have mentioned. We advise that before arriving, learn from the owner, Victor, the times of day when you can drive to within a few meters of the apartment to unload / load. Victor was easy to communicate with (we used WhatsApp) and answer questions/advise. The history of his building is quite interesting. The terrace is spectacular and fortunately early October weather cooperated enough for us to enjoy a couple of lunches and apertivos on it. The neighborhood is quiet and the WiFi is very good. We would return in a heartbeat.

Perfect spot as promised!

This two-floor Legacy apartment was perfect for our family of 5 adults and exactly as promised on HomeAway. Victor was a great host and had a back-up contact for us when he was out of the country at the end of our stay. The location is absolutely perfect and the view from the terrace is incredible! The only challenge with this apartment is the parking - there's a free lot very close by, but it would be better if there was a spot that's not down/up a big hill. Lots of steep steps in the building to get up to the apartment and inside the apartment too, so not ideal for small children and those with any mobility issues . Victor did offer to help us with our luggage, though. For us, all the stairs were good exercise. We would definitely stay here again!

The PERFECT stay in Sulmona!

My family and I were so glad to meet Victor upon arrival at the apartment. We really appreciated his passion for Sulmona, and he was willing to help us in any way needed during our stay. The apartment (as noted in the description & other reviews) is 50-60 steps up, but we would not have changed it for the world. Each room had an incredible view of the city, mountains, & sky. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, almost too good to be true. Thank you Victor for opening up your home to us, we will be back!

The Legacy House in Sulmona

We just returned from spending 1 week in The Legacy House in Sulmona. We stayed in the top floor apartment with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We enjoyed our stay very much in spite of the heat. The unit has 3 air conditioners but soon found out that we could not use all 3 at the same time, or if you wanted to use the washer or any other item which used electricity it would be best to only have 1 of the units on or risk blowing a fuse, which we did the 1st night. But Victor was wonderful and remedied the problem fast. There were 5 of us (all adults) in the 3 bedroom unit on the 3rd floor which has about 60 steps so if you have problems with going up and down many steps then I do not recommend this. We found it a little tuff the 1st couple of days but after going up and down a few times we got used to it and looked at it as exercise to work off all the good food you eat while staying here. The view from the terrace is well worth all the steps to make it up there. The unit itself is very modern and well equipped and spacious. Sulmona is a wonderful city that never sleeps, maybe because it was August and most are on holidays, but the main square was very much alive at 1am though most café and restaurants close between 12am and 1am. We found a great restaurant we would recommend called "Don Ciccio", the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The best cappuccinos are from the "Café Dividio" and their pasteries etc are very tasty. And if you are staying or visiting Sulmona be sure to pick up some of the confetti which Sulmona is famous for and originated from here. They have all flavours now and have some beautifully made up into flowers etc, great little momentos and/or gifts. Oh and if you rent a call there is free parking not far which Victor advised us of but again be prepared for a short walk which includes a very steep hill with about 50 steps. All in all we all enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this property.
