Come to Knob View Retreat and enjoy a relaxing vacation in this beautiful home with beautiful views out every window. The home has 3 bedroom suites, each with private ensuite bath and closet, perfect for the extended family or couples who enjoy vacationing together. Two of the suites have direct access to a covered porch to enjoy the refreshing mountain air and views of those glorious sunsets. There is also a large hot tub on the deck with mountain views. The hot tub is professionally maintained weekly by Hot Tub & Spa Specialists of Hot Springs.

The house is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains at 2900 feet elevation within a small mountain community containing only 7 houses on 70 acres. Privacy abounds and so does the wildlife.

Enjoy a relaxing stay on the porch or drive just 12 miles to downtown Asheville and enjoy shopping and restaurants in the 'Paris of the South'. The town of Black Mountain is just 9 miles to the East. Spend a day at the Biltmore Estate (13 miles) or go hiking on any of the miles of trails just minutes away. Want to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway? An entrance is just 10 minutes away.

Our house has beds to accommodate 6 adults or combination of adults and children totaling 6 people. With advance notice we can arrange for a crib or pack and play. No more than 6 people.


We have 4 security cameras as recommended by our Insurance Co. These are exterior cameras only and there are no interior cameras whatsoever. We have 2 ARLO cameras monitoring the parking area and 1 Arlo doorbell camera. (It allows guests to quickly contact us if they have difficulty entering the property upon arrival). There is a 4th camera mounted under the deck that monitors the side door entering the garage.

Knobview Retreat was everything we were looking for for our girls' weekend in Asheville! The house was beautiful and well kept, full stocked for everything you may need. The views were as gorgeous as promised, with tons of privacy and lovely sunsets. Great communication with the host both leading up to and during our stay. Strongly recommend this great cabin!

Quick trip away with some friends. Very nice home , great views. Visited Biltmore and had some good meals . Nice hot tub and loved sitting on deck with morning coffee . Even a pair of bears this morning run through the property and over driveway . Definitely too short of trip .

Clean, Comfortable, and Great Location

We had a great stay here—everything was just as advertised. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and check-in was smooth and easy. The location was ideal—close to restaurants and walkable to downtown, but still quiet at night. The staff was friendly and responsive when we had a quick question about parking. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others looking for a relaxing and convenient place to stay.

Brewery weekend

As always the property was perfect for our base of operations. Perfect for 3 couples. Close enough to all breweries yet far enough out for quiet time in between brewery trips. The hot tub was great each evening after spending time around Asheville. The hosts were great as always.

Perfect Get-Away to the Mountains

This is the very best of the best place to unwind and relax or get moving with many places to see. The view from the house/deck is extraordinary and we didn’t want to leave. We did hike some mountain trails and spend some time appreciating Asheville downtown.The house host, Steve, was within immediate contact and made the house feel just like home with everything we needed. You must come see this! In awe!!

Everything you're reading about this home is true. Every room is well appointed. Quality linens on the beds and comfortable furniture in every room, including the deck. Thoughtful artwork and decor. The hosts have furnished this home as if for themselves, not "the rental house". The setting is breathtaking. If you're having difficulty deciding between this house and another one... pick this one.

Perfect Family Vacation

We had the pleasure of staying at Steve and Henrietta's beautiful home with our 2 adult daughters + 1 daughter's boyfriend. What a terrific trip! There is simply no way that photographs can capture the serenity and beauty of this home. The three bedrooms with attached baths were generously sized and the entire home was immaculately clean. Everything that we needed (and more!) was readily available. Steve is a fabulous owner who communicated very well. We followed his advice for dining and hiking and had a wonderful time. My husband and I would love to return and see the views from the home for the other 3 seasons. It's truly a magical place. Favorite memories from the home are sitting on the deck or in the hot tub, having drinks and chatting. We did see one of the resident bears a few times, which was very exciting. Thank you Steve and Henrietta - your hospitality is so appreciated!

Summer Family Vacation

We had a great time at this property. It was even more beautiful in person! The Mountain views each morning and evening were incredible and left us asking whether we should go out for a hike or just enjoy the views from the deck. We loved getting away from the Florida heat this summer. We had our 10-year-old daughter and 17-year-old son and there was something for all of us to do and enjoy our time together, from playing ping-pong to exploring biking, hiking and river tubing activities nearby. We also enjoyed home-cooked meals together in the evenings and playing some of our favorite board games with a beautiful background. When the time was up, we didn’t wanna leave and I’m sure that we will be back. If you are considering booking - DO IT!!

Brewery Weekend

This house was perfect for our needs. Very well appointed and had everything we needed for a great weekend. Easy trip into Asheville and very welcoming after busy days visiting breweries. We got to see a couple of bears on our way up to the house. Hot Tub was wonderful to soak the muscles after a lot of walking around Asheville. We will definitely come back here next year.

Spectacular Views and So Peaceful

No need to leave the house. The home amenities can keep you happy for your entire stay. We enjoyed cooking, playing ping pong, board games and the hot tub with its own panoramic view of the mountains. It was a wonderful opportunity to make special memories with our family. Mountain Getaway

Our family needed some down time after a busy year and even busier holiday season. The house was a perfect retreat for us! Family Christmas

Great weekend with our young adult children to gather for Christmas! Amazing views of the mountains. Loved that it is private and secluded yet close enough to enjoy the Biltmore, Asheville and the cute town of Black Mountain. Was decorated nicely with a tree and Christmas garland/lights. We did lots of cooking and baking and loved how the kitchen had all that we needed and more! Owners have gone above and beyond to provide all that you could possibly need. Highly recommend this property!
