Alexander Hotel is set in a vast land, that enable guests to go for long walk, within the compound. The Hotel interior is quite beautiful and modern, and the and ambience. It caters to all type of guests with different amenities. During our stay, there was Art and Craft activities, and various items to purchase. The spicy dinner platter and Burger meal we had was tasty, (the chicken wings needs more seasoning). The tortilla was also very nice and crunchy. There were lots of activities to keep one busy, within the Hotel - the Gym, swimming pool and sauna were all good and clean. Breakfast was excellent. I truly enjoyed the waffle, Cumberland sausage and baked bean. The staff were helpful, pleasant and with a smile, ready to assist. Well done guys!

Great hotel with superb people

Really nice hotel. The people working there are superb. I cannot fault anyone that I interacted with. It’s such a shame that this hotel is due to close in February. Definitely visit before it does.

Having booked thìs property several times over the past 3 years for business and social trips, I have never been charged to take my dog who is small and well behaved. I arrived to the hotel and the booking was confirmed then an additional charge of £25 was required for the dog, it had never been before. For this reason alone I've awarded four stars only. It should be clearer when booking initially.

It was nice and had some facilities. I would like to have more varied food. Some things were missing in the room but once I responded it, it was dealt with on the day. I would stay again though.

A bit disappointing for us

The staff were nice but that's where the positives end for me; nothing major to complain about but loads of little things. Firstly, we arrived on a day the hotel was hosting a wedding; this meant there were no accessible parking bays and we had to park further from reception in a crowded car park. The wedding guests were also quite loud until quite late and our room (215) faced the reception area so we heard all of it. We had the tiny window open because it was very hot with no air control or fans available; this meant all the guest noise, cars and lawn mowers etc. could be heard really easily. The lighting in the room was a bit bizarre; the lighting available felt quite harsh but the window was in the corner of the room so didn't give us much natural light either. The room was clean but very worn out with peeling walls and tired furniture. We may have gotten unlucky with our room but neither myself nor my daughter could get a reliable WiFi connection or mobile signal from within our room (this was fine when we passed through reception). A bit disappointing as I had booked this hotel for the free WiFi compared to another in the area which was cheaper but charged for a WiFi connection. The complimentary tea and coffee felt a bit measly compared to what I normally see at hotels; all other places I've stayed at provided twice as much for a solo booking. I feel the selling points must be the grounds and facilities but we tend to stay in our room so didn't benefit from that.
