The Barone House is a completely independent apartment located on the second floor without elevator of a beautiful historic building in Ortigia.
The property has been recently refurbished, fully furnished with new furniture and equipped with air conditioning, radio and television in the two rooms, hairdryer, microwave, iron and ironing board, toaster, crockery and pots.
It is composed of independent kitchen, living room with double bed on mezzanine and double sofa bed, bedroom (located on the lower level) and bathroom with shower.
The two balconies overlook a splendid view of the Temple of Apollo, one of the most important monuments of Ortigia.
Near the apartment you can take advantage of all the amenities to spend a wonderful holiday of relaxation, leisure and culture on this unforgettable island such as bars, restaurants, pubs, pizzerias, taxi service, solarium, car rental, inflatable boats And bicycles, boat tours, shopping, coin operated laundry, nightclubs, etc ..

Wonderful

Apartment was as described and shown. Very Clean. Location is tops - near long term public parking, one block from the street market, overlooking the Greek temple. Lots to do and experience. Host was extremely communicative despite our phone issues. Would highly recommend the listing.

Nice appartement in top location

We very much enjoyed the accommodation, especially the roof terrace and the great neighbourhood. The lower bedroom is only accessible over a narrow staircase. Everything else is fine.

Net en proper verblijf, erg vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaars. Voor wie van het uitgangsleven van ortigia wil genieten ideaal gelegen. Gezien de omgeving moet men lawaai aanvaarden. Wel niet in het appartement zelf. Mooi dakterras met uitzicht op haven. Wel een speciale manier om in slaapkamer te komen. Minder mobiele personen niet aan te raden. Voor de rest excellente locatie

Tolle Unterkunft

Wir waren fĂŒr 7 Tage in Ortigia und mĂŒssen sagen, die Wohnung ist top. Lage, Einrichtung und Sauberkeit waren ausgesprochen gut. Die Dachterrasse lud zum Verweilen ein. Lucia ist eine sehr nette Vermieterin und das BegrĂŒssungspaket hat uns sehr gefreut. Auch konnten wir unseren Mietwagen ganz in der NĂ€he kostenlos parken.

Centraal gelegen smaakvol ingericht ruim appartement

Het appartement van Lucia ligt heel erg gunstig om Ortigia (en Syracuse) te ontdekken. De auto kun je in de buurt parkeren (gratis). Het appartement ligt vlak bij de (vis)markt en vanuit het appartement kijk je uit op de Apollo tempel. Het appartement is heel ruim, smaakvol ingericht en is van alle gemakken voorzien. Ook qua keukengerei is alles voorhanden. De slaapkamer is lekker ruim en ligt een verdieping lager aan de rustige achterkant, Groot pluspunt is het grote dakterras dat uitzicht geeft over de stad! Lucia reageerde heel snel op vragen. Wij bevelen dit appartement van harte aan!

Nice apartment, quirky stairway

This is a comfortable, bright apartment in a fantastic location in Ortigia. Well-equipped kitchen with full-size refrigerator, small table and chairs, sofa bed with bunk bed above and good-size bathroom with the typical, tiny corner shower. The highlight was the roof-top deck with table and chairs — perfect place for an evening glass of wine with a view to the Temple ruins. Communication with Lucia, who speaks English, was great and she provided a warm welcome complete with breakfast pastries and even a bottle of wine. The location is perfect, at the north end of the island, just across the bridge. Free parking available nearby. The only drawback is the odd stairway leading down to the bedroom. There is a narrow stairwell with the stairs leading down from the opposite wall. It has a drawbridge contraption with a platform built across the stairwell that splits in half, so that you have to walk cross half of the drawbridge to the other side, then walk down the stairs with half of the drawbridge blocking half of the stairwell. Obviously, if you have mobility issues or are a large person, this will not work. We left our suitcases upstairs in the living room and avoided having to work out how to get them down the stairs. Lucia did point out that the sofa bed could be made up to sleep in as an alternative. But, the bedroom downstairs is quiet, roomy and comfortable, with a large window opening out to the interior courtyard below, low ceiling, and sofa. Overall, a great base for exploring Otigia. Grazie, Lucia!

Schönes Domizil, mitten im lebendigen Viertel von Ortigia. Wunderschöne Dachterrasse !

Sehr gastfreundliche Vermieter, bekamen zur BegrĂŒĂŸung ein "Erstversorgungspaket" und eine Flasche leckeren Wein. Haben uns in der Wohnung sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt und v.a. die Dachterrasse mit Blick zum Meer sehr genossen. Das Schlafzimmer ist etwas gewöhnungsbedĂŒrftig fĂŒr grĂ¶ĂŸere Menschen wegen der niedrigen Decke, dafĂŒr aber sehr ruhig.

Sonnenterasse ĂŒber dem Apollotempel

Die Lage der Wohnung ist ideal: am Markt (auf dem ich morgens fĂŒr das FrĂŒhstĂŒck einkaufte), am Beginn von Ortigia, nah unserer Lieblingsbar Boats. Gleichzeitig nah zum Bahnhof (Bus, Eisenbahn), so dass wir schnell unsere AusflĂŒge starten konnten. Obwohl wir im lebendigen Viertel wohnten und das sehr genossen, konnten wir im zum Innenhof liegenden Schlafzimmer ruhig schlafen und wurden höchstens von Vogelgesang geweckt. Der extravagante Weg innerhalb der Wohnung zum eine Treppe tiefer liegenden Schlafzimmer ist fĂŒr nicht in der MobilitĂ€t eingeschrĂ€nkte GĂ€ste unproblematisch. Wir waren nur zu zweit und hĂ€tten sogar im Wohnraum schlafen können. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist praktisch und hĂŒbsch. Aber ganz besonders haben wir die Terasse genossen. Einige der Restauranttipps von Lucia haben wir zu unserer Zufriedenheit getestet. FĂŒr uns war es die ideale Wohnung in Siracusa. Vielen Dank Lucia!

Plenty of space in a perfect location

We spent a week in this apartment mid-June. The unit could sleep 4-5, but since there were only two of us we were able to spread out a bit and enjoyed having a living room after spending the previous week in tiny hotel rooms. The large windows offered great ventilation, keeping the temperature moderate despite being on an upper floor, and the air conditioning worked well the few times that we needed it. Lucia was responsive and welcoming. The location of the apartment is just over the bridge into Ortigia, offering access to both Ortigia and mainland Siracusa. We found street parking throughout our stay, but there is a nearby parking lot with reasonable rates as well. Since the apartment is up quite a few stairs and the bedroom is on a different level from the living space, this is not a good choice for guests with mobility issues. Our stay was outstanding - our only hesitation in writing such a glowing review was that other guests will keep it booked and we won't be able to return! We definitely plan to be back.
