The crystal-clear waters of Lake Huron and the soft sandy shoreline await you at Northern Sands Resort. Spend your days relaxing on the beach, splashing in the shallow waters, or unwinding by an evening bonfire under a starlit sky. This beautiful knotty-pine 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home offers plenty of space and comfort for your entire group.
Please note: We are not pet-friendly — no pets allowed.

The Space:
Northern Sands Resort features three comfortable bedrooms:
Primary Bedroom: King bed
Bedroom 2: Two double (full) beds
Bedroom 3: Twin-over-double (full) bunk bed
The living room provides generous seating, including a sleeper sofa and sleeper loveseat—perfect for additional guests. The fully equipped kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, and dishwasher. A full laundry room with a washer and dryer adds extra convenience.
The dining area seats 6–8, and the cozy sun porch is the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening drinks. The porch includes lounge seating for six plus a high-top dining table with seating for eight.
** Please note: Included in the cleaning fee price is damage waiver coverage in place of a traditional damage deposit so you can have a carefree stay. **

Northern Sands Resort has plenty of free parking within the long circular drive.

The Neighborhood:
You’re just a short drive from a wide variety of local shops, grocery stores, lounges, and restaurants—everything you need for a convenient and enjoyable stay. Be sure to explore some of the area’s favorite destinations, including the Tawas Point Lighthouse, Lumberman’s Monument, and the Wurtsmith Air Museum.
Outdoor enthusiasts will love taking a canoe trip down the AuSable River or enjoying a relaxing round of golf at one of the many nearby courses. And if you’re feeling adventurous, the casinos in Mackinaw City are only a couple of hours away!

We had a wonderful time at this Lake Huron cabin! It was everything we hoped for... a true gem! The cabin was clean. The yard was great for spending time hanging out with family. The beach was amazing! We hope to come back!

Breathtaking house on the beach

I could tell this cabin was very unique by the design and decor. Great beach, grassy back yard, location is close to a grocery store. We loved this trip and the cabin. Amazing views, nice flow in house to all season Michigan room. Big fluffy white towels, a washer/dryer.

Great Beach Getaway

The house suited our needs and more. The beachfront is beautiful and the property is well maintained. The host, Al was quick to respond to a small problem we had and corrected it quickly. I would recommend this location for its great lakeshore views and restful settings.

Family gathering

Great for family to gather, some went out fishing on the Ausable, others cooked a big meal while kids played games and walked to the beach park a short ways down. Lots of space to spread out. Beautiful sunrises.

Great Stay in Oscoda

Our group had a great time at this property. The beach is amazing! It was wonderful being so close to the water and the night sky was fabulous. Having a firepit on the sand and being able to hear the waves at night, also fabulous. And oh, the sunrises! Be sure to set an alarm so you can see that. The property was nice and comfortable. The sunroom was a great gathering place. The kitchen was pretty well-stocked. Note to other travelers - only bath towels were provided, no washcloths and only 2 hand towels. In the kitchen, only two kitchen towels, no dishrags. Also, no salt and pepper in the kitchen. So be prepared! We have already booked our stay for 2023. Looking forward to returning to the Sunrise Side!

Perfect stay for our family

This property was perfect for us. Our parents had a place that was very similar to this and we just loved it. Great for family meals, gathering outdoors and evening bonfires. Lots of chairs and modern kitchen and living room conveniences. Unless there were lots of kids, I can’t see how it could sleep 12, though. The views were great. It was too cold to swim but it would be a super summer getaway for sure.

Great Getaway!

We had a VERY relaxing time at the Resort! The place was spacious and had plenty of comfortable beds! Any concerns were handled immediately by Al! Good communication! The beach was fabulous to walk on. Be sure to bring extra paper products with you! (Especially for the kitchen) This WAS mentioned in the welcome email to us and we’re glad we brought stuff. We would definitely come back again. Thanks Al.

a great time

the beach is absolutely amazing and right out your door! There was a nice play area right down the sandy beach for the 1 and 3 year olds to. Bon fires by the beach for smores was perfect. The traffic was a bit loud in the back bedroom but that was the only downside. totally enjoyed my stay.

Great getaway

Had a awesome time with my family that most of them I hadn't seen since November. Loved our beach time and all the laughter around the fire . Cozy and comfortable all the way around😊
