La Peninsule Scenic Home within a quiet neighborhood

Hosted by Flying Squirrel Cottages, this singular vacation home on Lake Hickory offers stunning 270-degree views from its peninsula location. The quiet cul-de-sac features a landscaped lawn and parking for 3 vehicles. Enjoy the large covered porch for morning coffee or evening wine. Inside: 2 Queen, 1 Futon, 2 Full, 4 Twin, and 1 Twin Trundle Bed. Kayaks provided for calm water adventures; boat rentals nearby. La Peninsule is cozy yet close to restaurants, bars, stores, and parks.

We are an owner-managed house, and everything you’ll experience here was made with love! Feel free to contact us using the rental app messaging function for questions. While you won’t see us in person, we’re happy to be of assistance. Thank you for choosing our property to enjoy your vacation!

Our home is situated at the end of a quiet neighborhood. Neighbors are all established and respectful.

Minutes from a boat rental company that can cater all sizes of marine craft. A couple of kayaks will be provided for daytime adventure, the coves have calm waters for beginner adventurists. Swimming right off the dock is always an option as well.

Paddleboard sessions are available as well.

Riverbend Park is within a 15 minute commute with beautiful walking trails that wind in and out of the trees through open fields and next to Lake Hickory. Within a 30 minute drive we have Rocky Face Park which has 6 miles of moderate to strenuous trails.

Winery's, Breweries, and Distilleries are popular attractions within a short distance.

Lake Hickory while picking up in popularity is still mostly natural landscape with beautiful views.



The garage will not be accessible.

Our home is nestled at the end of a cul de sac.
We have 2 exterior cameras that are only accessed if security concerns arise. They focus on the front door and back yard. The focal points do not touch screened areas or interior in order to maintain the privacy of our guests.

Bedrooms 1 & 2 temps are controlled by mini-split unit and remote control in the bedroom. Please set to 78 in summer and 62 in winter when you leave.

Our property is situated on the water so please watch young children closely and stay aware when near the waters edge.

Good Location

This property was a nice house. It was good for a lot of guests, however it's not completely private since some bedrooms are only accessible by going through other bedrooms. The kayaks were a huge selling point for this house being on the water and unfortunately we could not get the lock to open. It should also be known that the refrigerator and freezer were pretty full, so make sure you have your own coolers if you plan on bringing food and drinks. Overall, the house was nice and check-in process was easy.

Perfect stay on lake Hickory!

I can't say enough about this house and property. Only 20 minutes from downtown Hickory it truly felt like we were "out of town".....our Charleston friends loved it! So much so, that one said they would love to live there (as a Hickory resident, me too!!) Just around the corner is the sandbar marina where you can gas up your lake vessels, grab food, drinks and if wine is your thing, a pretty good selection for sale there. You could also drop anchor in the sandbar cove to float, be we actually enjoyed floating off our dock at the house better! This house had a docking port for our 2 sea doos and we also parked our boat there as well. So if you're traveling with lake vessels, this is the house for you! There are several put ins very close. The grounds outside are unbelievable! Plenty of yard to run and play games if you bring kids. We loved sitting on the point in the evenings watching all the boats go by, as they created wake, and the waves would crash up on the rocks! We love the pizza oven outside (tools included) along with the fire pit for s'mores! The house on the inside has lots of beds to accommodate all kinds of family/friend trips. With a water view out of almost every single window!! Kitchen was well stocked with everything you need, with a small shopping center within a 8min drive! After our checkout, I realized I left a few favorite things and the host (Kip/Cam) was very accommodating for letting us come back hours later to retrieve them. IT'S PERFECT!!

Amazing Property

This gorgeous property made our nearby family wedding trip even better! Making memories -from the fire pit to the kayaks to our little boys playing in the water. The many windows and porch spaces provide stunning views of the lake. Property management responded quickly with any questions. I highly recommend this property. Being on a peninsula is magical, so private and inviting.

Wonderful fishing holiday!

Nice location on the lake. The house could use a bit of updating. We were happy with our stay, but disappointed that the fridge and freezer weren't cleaned out prior to our arrival. The dyer needs to be serviced as it was not working properly.

LR Graduation weekend

When I saw this listing I just knew we needed it for such a special weekend for our family. We were definitely not disappointed. The views speak for themselves. The kitchen was well equipped with high end appliances, pans, spices, and much more. We probably spent most of our time on the amazing screened porch. We managed to catch one sunrise and it did not disappoint. The clouds were not helpful the other days. The cove made a perfect spot to kayak even when the open water was very active with lots of boats. We would love to stay here again, our hosts were most accommodating. Thank you for open up this property to our family. It was certainly the most perfect setting for a perfect weekend!

One of the most beautiful views we've experienced. The house itself was gorgeous, the property even more gorgeous. The hosts were so helpful and responsive, which made our trip even easier. We can't wait to go back....we had a very hard time leaving.

Wonderful Option for Multi-Family Gathering

We enjoyed our week at this home so much! Lake views from every angle, beautiful options for dining in small groups or large. It felt like everyone had their space and we were two families meeting from out of town with seven cousins in tow, and local family coming by to join us for meals and lake play! The dock and the use of the kayaks were perfect and we caught lots of brim and catfish throughout the week. Highly recommend this home. Thanks for a lovely stay.
