Located within walking distance of many bars and restaurants. Situated directly along the 2.5-mile beachfront of Playa Potrero overlooking the ocean, Villa Potrero includes a professionally landscaped private garden with an oceanfront patio for sunset cocktail hours. A private gate opens to a sandy beach for casual walks, a dip in the ocean, paddle boarding, fishing or just watching the sailboats pass by. The bay has gentle waves that are calm and inviting with warm swimmable water. Your view includes the Catalina Islands 6 miles offshore, one of the most sought out scuba diving and snorkeling locations in Costa Rica. Dive boats can get there in 10 minutes. Let our on-site concierge take care of all the details for you for a relaxing and worry free stay. The concierge will coordinate optional amenities such as excursions, private transport to/from the airport, private chef services, on-site massage services, and local transportation (to excursions or nearby Tamarindo for example.) The Villa Potrero estate consists of a large main house comprising 7 bedrooms and 7 1/2 bathrooms, 1 full kitchen and 2 kitchenettes. The home may be rented in whole to accommodate up 18 guests or the home can be rented as a 3 bedroom and a 4 bedroom separately - please inquire if one or another of these configurations is of interest to you. This listing is for the entire 7 bedroom home. The 4 bedroom guest suite and 3 bedroom guest suite can be reserved separately, inquire if either of these options is of interest to you. Additional fees apply for private events.

Villa Potrero is in a beach community within walking distance of several great restaurants such as Hemmingway’s, Nita Coffee, Cerveceria Independiente (Brewery), La Forketta, MerKdo (Grocery) and the sailing center. A few minutes’ drive takes you to El Tiki, Coco Loco, Surf Box (Coffee), Sentido Norte, and the Fruit Stand. So many great options nearby! The Flamingo marina is on the south end of the bay offering sunset cruises and world-class fishing.

We spent 9 days at villa potrero with 16 people.. it was clean and spacious and everyone had their own space. Catalina, the property manager, was amazing! She was responsive and helpful so friendly! Playa Potrero is beautiful and quiet and the sunsets can’t be beat!

This home is absolutely lovely. It was exactly as the listing showed (I was worried it was too good to be true). We loved the beautiful beach, the kids could not get enough of the pool, the extra boards for using in the water was wonderful. The house is beautiful, the rooms are wonderful and all the space was fantastic for our large family group. The hosts were very responsive and attentive and I really hope we can come back someday.

Our stay at this Playa Potrero Vrbo was truly incredible and exceeded every expectation.We had a group of 17 ranging from 11 months to 67 years old, and it was perfect for everyone. The kids loved boogie boarding at the beach, pool time, and volleyball, while the adults were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful setting. It’s rare to find a place that works so well for all ages, but this one absolutely does.The communication was above and beyond — thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely caring. We felt so well taken care of from start to finish.Chef Kattya was a huge highlight, creating an unforgettable private chef dinner for my 40th birthday and a beautiful birthday brunch for my mom. Both meals were amazing and so special.The staff went out of their way to make our stay magical, including surprising the kids with a hidden Easter candy hunt. And when my nephew needed stitches, they even gave my brother’s family a ride to the hospital — truly above-and-beyond care.We also enjoyed phenomenal massages on the property.This home is more than a rental — it’s an experience filled with warmth and hospitality. We’re already dreaming of coming back!

We had a wonderful stay. There were 14 of us total celebrating a 60th birthday and friendship. Arturo was awesome, so friendly and kind, he went out of his way to make our stay special, we even had the opportunity to meet Kata his daughter and she is lovely. Our house-moms Jurianna and Mary prepared breakfast every morning, it was such a delight. The house had everything we needed, the view was "take your breath away" each time. Town was only a 10 minute easy walk. We had Kattya Campos a chef prepare dinner for us twice and it was delicious. Used Boomerang Tours for a 4 hour beautiful Catamaran tour. We went to Vandara Hot Spring for the day. I can't say enough about Villa Potrero. We all hope we can visit again one day. Thank you for sharing your home!

Perfect beachfront location

We knew nothing about this area before booking but fell in love at first site. The home was immaculate and well cared for. The onsite property managers were wonderful, responsive immediately and so helpful. The combination of pool and beach was perfect. We walked the beach to dinners and rented golf carts to explore further. Couldn’t have been better.

The property was gorgeous! The rooms had comfortable beds and their own bathrooms which was great for our group of friends traveling together. Arturo was the house manager and was incredibly helpful well before our trip and throughout. He helped make recommendations and arrangements. The house had a fully stocked kitchen and two large refrigerators upstairs plus smaller kitchenettes downstairs (I believe two). The pool was perfect sized with plenty of outdoor seating and activities. The house is so nice that it was easy to want to stay there but there is a lot to explore in town, so I recommend getting out and about!

My husband and I spent one week at Villa Potrero with 8 close friends. We had an amazing time. The house and property are beautiful and within walking distance of several good restaurants and a market for groceries and other necessities. The staff including the concierge, house keepers and house maintenance workers were kind, helpful and accommodating. Arturo and Catalina assisted us skillfully while preparing for the trip by arranging chef service and massages while there as well as answering all of our questions in a timely manner. Martin and Benito kept the grounds looking amazing and were kind enough to set us up on the beach with umbrellas and chairs multiple days during our stay. Judy was a housekeeper who checked in with us to find out how frequently we would like her to come by to clean. She came with another housekeeper every couple of days to clean and freshen up the house. Lastly, our in house chef was Kattya. The experience was so amazing that we asked her and her team to come back on our last night in the house. They even delivered cocktails and appetizers to the pool in the afternoon while preparing a delicious meal. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Family getaway!!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! My family of 8, 23 yrs to 65 years loved our time in Costa Rica! The house is beautiful and immaculate!! The location, yard and beach are breathtaking!! In shot everything was great. On site Matin was spot on, housekeeping everyday was awesome and non intrusive, Arturo knew how to go everywhere, location was perfect. Quiet, warm gentle beach, close to everything. Well be back

Wonderful Xmas Holiday

Our family of 14 found the villa to be perfect. Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and places to gather. There were two dining tables, one indoors and another outdoors, that accommodated all of us. Arturo and all the help saw that all our needs and wants were taken care of. The teens enjoyed the short walk into town. Fabulous holiday!

This house was amazing!! It was like we had an entire hotel to ourselves. The villa accommodated me, my spouse, and 8 of our friends. It has everything that you need and you can’t beat the view. We loved the sunsets every day. Arturo was so helpful! He literally helped us with everything. You can walk to Geckos and many other places! We also enjoyed hemingways. He scheduled massages for us, best thing ever. We also went ziplining, rode atvs, and went on the lazy lizard. We rented a golf cart on the last day. Also, BOOK the chef! Even if it’s for one dinner. She did our anniversary dinner and it was delicious.

Fantastic stay and wedding location!

Villa Potrero was a fantastic place to stay. The house was amazing and beautiful! It has all the amenities and and was in the best location close to everything. We hosted our wedding at the house in the back yard and it was absolutely amazing. The guests loved the space and enjoyed the mixologists that Cori and Arturo provided as well as the picturesque sunset. The house was plenty big enough for our entire wedding party.

3 week Family Reunion

The house, pool, yard, beach and proximity to restaurants and shopping more than met our expectations. There was plenty of room for our group of 17 with ages ranging from 6 months to more than 70 years. The on site access to a manager and the daily housekeeping absolutely exceeded expectations. And the sunsets were magical!
