Watch the lightning bugs (summer) from the porch in the evening and listen to the birds in the morning. Guests are invited to walk around the field, sit in the shade of the pecan trees, or enjoy the gardens and front porch of the historic main home. This is the perfect vacation place for a writer’s retreat, a relaxing get-away-from-it-all break, a home base for visiting family or an exploration of all the Carolinas have to offer.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the dishes and utensils you need for cooking and dining. Al fresco seating for two on the screened porch and a small table for two in the eat-in kitchen are available for dining.

Great little getaway. Spacious for my family and us to get away for the night together. Tucked away from eveything but close enough to get things if needed. Host was nice and responsive, if we are in the area next year I’d be happy to come back!

This was my second time staying at Placid Acres. It's a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. The apartment has a homey, cozy feeling to it. There is a fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook. There is a Keurig and the owners provide complimentary coffee and tea (you will need to bring your own creamer and sweetener if desired). There are plenty of bath towels and they provide soap/shampoo/conditioner. Placid Acres is a great place to stay while in the Bennettsville area!

I want to take every opportunity to articulate how incredible this property and location are. I was in town for business and was drawn in by the warmth and reviews that I had read about this property. While the area isn't a tourism hotbed, motel options were limited. I am typically very hard to please and have often been disappointed with locations or accommodations. To say that I was pleased with the accommodations and location is an understatement. The location is very private and a great place to connect with nature. After each workday, I felt that I had come home to a little slice of heaven. The hosts were more gracious than I could have imagined and ever expected. It would be futile to try to describe their kindness. It is the perfect getaway to unwind and escape the city. I hope it is not booked the next time I want to stay there. I plan to come back often. Wes H

Placid Acres is a quiet and cozy place to stay when in the Bennettsville, SC area. So much better than staying in a local motel. The owners provide complimentary coffee and tea. The shower has a soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispenser. There are plenty of towels. There is kitchenware and cleaning supplies if needed. I slept on the air bed in the living room and it was comfortable for me. I would definitely stay at Placid Acres VRBO again!
