For my first trip to the Maldives, I stayed at Co co villa at the end of June.
All the people who work at Coco villa were lovely. They made me feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for any of them, they made my holiday very relaxing and very enjoyable. They all seem to work long hours and work hard too.
I am vegetarian , and the chef was very thoughtful about the lovely meals he cooked for me, checking what different things I liked to eat daily. The house keeper was also very kind and helpful too.
I went on an organised boat trip to do some snorkeling too through the manager at Coco villa which was amazing !!
I found the rooms very clean, and tastefully decorated, and everything worked as it should, it is a pretty hotel. A huge Thank you to all of them for a wonderful happy holiday, I will cherish the memories forever.
Coco villa in my personal opinion is slightly overpriced and overrated as online photos doesn't reflect the reality and it urgently needs renovation. Walls have massive cracks with ant colonies coming out of them, floor is dirty, shower is disgusting. hand wash dispenser is broken and always empty, maybe it is meant to serve as decoration. Slippers are worn out by someone else- unhygienic. Free air conditioner and fan is a big plus. WiFi slow and TV was Off for three days. food is overpriced for canned tuna and noodle soup from quick cook packs. Grilled fish means oven cooked and it is overcooked, chewy and dry. always go for BBQ. Comparing to other local island restaurants food is nicely presented and served. Staff was always friendly and helpful. You are nicely met and greeted. We were very disappointed with manta stingray experience as we didn't see any and were still charged for it. Manager gave us 100% that we will see them otherwise we wouldn't go for it. We didn't get any refreshments as promised on price list either but got charged for it. Next day when asked about another trip to see mantas, manager told us to look for them from the shore with our drone- unprofessional. It feels that we were tricked into it just to get the money. Other hotels run policy "no experience- no money" but we got charged for all of it. Very disappointing and upsetting as it has really ruined our moods. Overall it is OK guest house to stay overnight but you can definitely find better places.
