We chose this house for our family trip because we needed a first floor bedroom for my elderly mother. I wanted to love the place, it had a charm to it and bathrooms and kitchen were redone. But all furniture except for the suede couch and chair are old and uncomfortable. The first floor has two steps up from the room with the comfy furniture to the rest of the first floor (not handicap accessible as indicated in the listing). So, utilizing that furniture was inconvenient when you are trying to visit with family, especially since mom couldnât do the stairs easily. However, the biggest issue for us during our mid July stay was that when we arrived the house was very hot and musty. I quickly turned on all A/C units and went to buy air freshener while the house cooled down. However, the upstairs was very hot the whole time we were there, 3 nights. It was miserable trying to sleep upstairs and there was no way my son was going to sleep on an air mattress in the bonus room as planned, due to the heat, think of an attic in July. The beds were very uncomfortable as well, specifically the first floor bed and the double in the small room upstairs. They were so bad that my sister and nephew went to a hotel instead of staying the 3rd night and my mom drove back to Dayton. The positives were the pantry items that were onsite, the first aid kit and some toddler toys. It also had a changing table, stroller and I saw a toddler bed in a closet if you are traveling with a small child.
