Cute little cabin (10 minutes from the Natahala River)
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Located by Queens Creek Lake. 10 minutes from the Natahala River and 15 minutes from Natahala Lake. Bring your kayaks and your fishing poles and enjoy the beauty of being by the Queens Lake. Itâs a hidden gem in the Smokey Mountains. One of the only hatcheries supported lakes in the state.
The cabin was my grandfather's place. It is an older farmhouse. It's not a fancy custom-built cabin, which reflects the affordable price.
The property was as listed, nice setting, great location. It is small but very well furnished. Certainly could use some updates. The air quality inside was musty and mildewed. We booked 5 nights, left after two nights. I messaged owner as we were packing up, no reply. There was also evidence of mouse activity inside.
A secluded cabin off the beaten path. It was kept up. The setting is pretty. Everything we needed, other then a working stove, was onsite and available. The drive to and from is a most amazing one. That you will love about getting to and from.
This little farmhouse is as discribed. Beautiful location! No phone service but internet has a strong signal. Switch your phone to wifi calling. Do not confuse wear and tear with being dirty. It was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
No problem with cleanliness. Don't know why someone bashed this. Plenty of towels, pillows, blankets. Bed was comfortable, and so was the couch. I stayed in my PJ's for 2 days! Finally wandered out to the General Store about 17 miles away. This is a good place for 2 people. Think a little more heat will be needed in deep winter though. The space heaters are fine, but can't keep up with the cold. These are radiant heaters, but are fine for overnight usage. The wood burning stove is really good. Had to use it one night and it warmed the kitchen and living room. There's wifi and Roku tv. I had no problem while staying there. Yes, it's far from the nearest "real" store, so bring what you need with you. Loved the pictures of the trees and river that I was able to get. Beautiful.
Fantastic. Got a little cold at night and was trial and error getting good fire in wood burning stove but once I got a good fire going it heated up the whole house. I loved the secluded area but close to the parks trails.
If you want to do some fishing this is your place. Older home but very functional and clean, for the price it is great. The owner was wonderful and easy to reach through text. We really enjoyed our stay and watching the deer play from the front porch was an added bonus.
We really enjoyed our stay. It's a basic cabin with everything you need for a weekend. We brought our kayaks and fishing gear and had a blast on Queens Creek Lake. It was absolutely beautiful. We also caught a lot of fish. One day we did take a trip down the Natahala River. If you haven't ever done it, I highly recommend it! We will definitely be back!
We were looking for a get away with a lot of peace and quit. This was the place we were looking for.
It was like stepping back into history. This cabin has all the basic needs for cooking. We brought kayaks for our trip down the Nantahala river and wound up having a day on Queens Lake floating -swim, located about 2 minute walk away.
This is a perfect spot for a quick drive to put your kayaks in at the Nantahala river.
This will be our goto spot when we do our family River trip
Lane thank you for sharing you Grandpawâs old home place!

The property is very nice for the price. Nothing fancy, but clean and well equipped. Older furniture, but comfortable and clean.
There is a small creek on the property that is very nice.
Very quiet area. Peaceful and relaxing.
The closest grocery store/gas station is about 40 minutes away.
We got there and opened the door the smell of dog urine was terrible. There was duck tape covering crack's in the ceiling. We took a broom to the kitchen floor that had again dog hair all over it. They could of at least cleaned the old worn out carpet to get the dog urine out I have stayed at a lot of different places in the area this was the worst by far. I would highly recommend not staying there until it's been cleaned up!!!!
