Just five minutes away, the ever-popular Woodlands Leisure Park provides all-day fun for families, while those seeking a more laid-back outing can explore the lovely village pubs nearby, such as The Old Inn at Halwell and The New Inn at Moreleigh.

Dating back almost 300 years, Ritson Farm blends rich history with modern comfort. Once a traditional Devon farmhouse, it now stands as a beautifully updated retreat for those seeking an authentic countryside escape with space to breathe and room to gather.

Step inside and you’ll feel instantly at home. The welcoming entrance hall sets the tone, featuring a unique display of old keys mounted on a piece of 14th-century oak. At the heart of the home is a generous country kitchen, complete with a gas Rayburn alongside modern appliances, perfect for preparing leisurely breakfasts or evening feasts. The adjoining conservatory offers panoramic views across the surrounding landscape, making it a wonderful place to watch the light change over the fields in every season.

The cosy sitting room is filled with natural light and opens through patio doors to the garden, creating a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living. A practical utility room ensures everything you need for a comfortable stay is close to hand. Throughout the house, you’ll notice beautiful craftsmanship by the owner, a talented carpenter, from a kitchen island made from a locally sourced chestnut tree to windows salvaged from Dartmouth’s Lower Ferry.

Ritson Farm sleeps up to ten guests in comfort, with flexible sleeping arrangements across five bedrooms. A ground-floor double bedroom with its own en-suite is ideal for guests seeking easy access. Upstairs, you’ll find a king bedroom, a double, and two rooms that can be arranged as either a super-king or twin, making it perfect for families or friends sharing (please advise on booking).

The garden is one of the true highlights of the property. A large patio with BBQ and outdoor dining for ten invites long, lazy summer meals, while the lawn stretches alongside the house, bordered by colourful flower beds and opening out to breathtaking countryside views. Watch birds gather at the feeders or spot donkeys and chickens in the neighbouring field, a simple rural joy that delights guests of all ages.

Private parking for up to four cars as well as an EV charging point. Please note, you would have to supply your own charging cable and there is an honesty box to leave money towards the use of the electricity.
