The property is nicely situated if you care to explore Louisburg to Sydney. To clarify listing details it is actually a studio unit with one common room with a double bed and couch. Would only recommend for 1-2 people.

Beautiful cottage on river
We stayed 3 nights. Owners, Winston and Susan, were there to greet us and always around if needed. They live next door, but respected our privacy. Easy drive into Glace Bay. Patio overlooks river and very quiet setting. Loved watching the ducks and birds and saw a river otter. Fully equipped kitchen - hot plate, but no stove. A grill is on the deck to use. Heat pump for air condition & propane fireplace for heat. Comfortable bed. Marconi Towers Rd was a bit tricky to find, so get specific directions. Take Rt 4 to Glacé Bay & then to Marconi Towers Rd. Avoid taking 3 roads off Rt 22- Morrison Rd, Broughton Rd & Grove Rd- they are in rough shape. Would recommend going to Fortress of Louisbourg. 2 nice beaches - one in Glace Bay near Donkin and one in Dominion. Try breakfast at Collett’s. Would would stay there again.

Winter Stay
Overall a good stay. Very homey feel. Good location not too far from town. We stayed during a very windy few days and it was drafty inside but still warm. So although I imagine that is not the norm, it would be something to consider if travelling with a baby during the winter months. Unit is attached to a garage that’s used by owner so the space is not 100% private if that’s a consideration for future guests. Winston and Susie are very nice people and have a well stocked unit.

Great hosts! Quaint and quiet!
A great place to get away from the everyday noise of life.
I have progressing mobility issues. The property is mainly one level, with two tiny steps to the bathroom and a tiny stop to the front door. Shower enclosure, no tub. Rustic, charming property on a small pond with ducks and other wildlife. Owner has done all the renovations to the property himself. The bathroom counter and kitchen counters are slightly raised, which I found very comfortable. Nicely furnished deck with BBQ, which overlooks the duck pond. Patio doors open onto the deck. Fully equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed. I will definitely stay there again.

Like staying in a flee market stall! 😁
Everything was good but the unit was very cluttered. Almost every flat surface was covered with bric-a-brac.
Wifi was not working when we were there so had to have our mobiles on roaming

Rustic nook on a brook/pond
It is a rustic cottage. Everything we needed was on site and the owner very friendly and helpful gave us advice on where to eat. There a nice covered deck and we enjoyed watching the birds eat at the feeder. Also, it's very convenient to the beautiful Highlands of Cape Breton.

Great time.
We enjoyed our stay. If you love antiques this is the place for you. Found the bed a little small as it was just a double. The hosts were friendly and made sure our stay was comfortable.

Nook in the Brook
We joked that the cabin should have been called bird sanctuary in the nook . Very peaceful and we observed many types of woodland and aquatic birds as well as beavers .

Rustic
The property is quaint, but for a longer stay there are a few issues. There is a need for more storage spaces for your clothes, and curtains to eliminate the light. The host couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. He even supplied us with canoes for no charge, exceptional!.
Cabin had AC. A beautiful deck with a lake view. Deck had an awning on which you were able to watch ducks during the day and listen to bull frogs and watch beavers swim in the lake in the evening.

Hospitality number one.
Really cute place. Winston and Susan were great. Gave us ideas on what to do and where to go. Met some of their friends that were also very nice. John boiled us some lobster which was perfect. Things to do all over neighbor hood. Would go again. Thanks for everything Winston!
