Beautiful lodging in forest setting
Overall, very happy with stay. Beautiful, clean, fully stocked, and comfortable condo in a wooded area NW of Tahoe. The property manager was very responsive to phone calls, questions, etc. My family really enjoyed the stay. The only reason I gave this rating a four is because the property manager forces you to sign an onerous legal agreement that was not disclosed in the VRBO listing. Most of the terms were fine, but some were pretty one sided in favor of the landlord. I called the property manager and said I thought this was not fair since no where in the VRBO listing did it say that a legal contract would be required. They were willing to refund my money, but I didn't want to cancel at that point.
Also, not affecting the score, you should be aware that this lodging does not have air conditioning. We were there around the 4th of July and temperatures were hot. Still, at night the temperatures drop quite a bit and there is a fan on the 3rd level. It was a little warm on the 3rd level, but ok.
Another minor thing, the property gave no instructions on how to access the condo pool.
Finally, if you are coming for Lake Tahoe, we found out later that most of the activity is on the south side of the lake, and that's an hour away. But the location is still great if you want a relaxing location away from the crowds in a beautiful forest setting, and not far from north Lake Tahoe. Also, Lake Donner, close by, has warmer water than Lake Tahoe if you want to swim.
