The space

Desert adventurers and stargazers, welcome to Nightsky Nest! This updated home is perfectly situated to access all the best that the California High Desert has to offer. Equally located between both the West and North entrances of Joshua Tree National Park, visitors are only 15 minutes from the other worldly location. Convenient to shopping, dining and attractions, Nightsky Nest is an idyllic escape. Impeccably decorated, offering a fully fenced backyard for evenings to privately enjoy the starlit skies, and unparalleled location conveniences to all needed amenities make this the getaway you have been waiting for.

Guests will wake up to views of the mountain ranges bordering Joshua Tree National Park and can enjoy their morning cup of coffee on the quaint front porch. Get prepared for the day by fueling up with a meal you can prepare in the fully equipped kitchen that opens up to both the dining and living areas.

After exploring the great outdoors or browsing the eclectic local boutiques and shops, settle in for the evening for that chance to unwind. Whether you are having take-out from one of the local restaurants or preparing a special dish prepared with ingredients from stores just around the corner, there are endless options to close out your day at Nightsky Nest. Catch up on your favorite shows or have a movie on a large flat-screen Roku smart television in the living room or the large guest bedroom. For those needing a digital free evening, a suite of board games and a thoughtful collection of books are available to read.

Should the fresh, open air beckon you once more, the home extends the living experience outside. Easily dine al fresco with direct access from the kitchen to the grill. Enjoy an outdoor meal while watching the colors of the sunset light the sky at the adjoining patio dining and seating areas. A firepit circled by comfortable chairs, coupled with two large hammocks just steps away, make a picturesque scene for quiet hours of stargazing deep into the night.

Turn in for that restful night of sleep in any one of the three bedrooms, including one with its own ensuite bathroom and furnished with two queen size beds and television. The home also offers high-speed internet, two workstations, guest access to laundry, and a standard 110v outlet for Level 1 EV charging.

Placed between all the best of the High Desert, Twentynine Palms is a city that carries the honor as the official Gateway to the new Mojave Trails National Monument. From the breathtaking trails of Joshua Tree National Park to the vibrant arts culture that epitomizes the creative vibrancy of the region, there is something for everyone. With a drive to Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley less than an hour away, the attractions and experiences are endless. Your next adventure awaits you here at Nightsky Nest!

Other things to note

Our home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in the tranquil city of Twentynine Palms. Please be respectful of our community and neighbors. Parties, events, or large gatherings are strictly prohibited. In addition, excessive noise at any time is never allowed. Quiet hours are in place every day between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m and must be abided at all times. Local code enforcement by the city is allowed to come to property and can respond to any complaints made by local residents 24 hours a day.

The sleeping arrangements at our home can accommodate up to 8 guests with 2 queen beds in the large guest bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a queen bed in each of the other 2 guest bedrooms.

We welcome responsible and responsive guests over the age of 21. Any and all persons staying or visiting the property must be 18 years of age or older unless accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian.

A copy of the guest's government issued ID must be shared with the host upon a confirmed reservation. This is for safety and security purposes and is strictly required in order to stay at our home.

Pets allowed with restrictions and additional fees (please see house rules).

If a guest cancels a reservation, all eligible refunds will be governed by the cancellation policy agreed upon at time of booking. No refunds outside of the cancellation policy will be possible unless a mandatory evacuation is ordered for the area. Thus, it is highly recommended that all guests purchase trip cancellation/interruption insurance. In the event that a guest cannot make a trip due to a family emergency, illness, bad weather, flight/rental car cancellation, job loss, COVID-19 ban/restriction, etc., the guest should seek reimbursement through their travel insurance.

Mother Nature’s creatures both great and small also reside in the area in which our home is situated. Understanding how disconcerting it may be for our guests to find these critters in our home, please know that we hold a high standard for cleanliness and take all efforts to try to keep Mother Nature's creatures at bay. We subscribe to regularly scheduled pest control services so our guests can have an enjoyable stay. Despite measures we have taken to keep the home free of such events, it is not uncommon to have a stray visitor come into the house through an open door or window even if left ajar for a brief moment. While we cannot be held responsible for encounters with pests or wildlife inside or outside the home, if notified immediately of such an occurrence, arrangements can be made to accordingly try to address the issue. No refunds will be offered for these encounters.

Property has 3 motion-activated exterior security cameras (at garage/driveway, front door, and backyard area) that record sound and video 24/7 and decibel monitoring sensors inside and outside of the home to ensure neighborhood noise levels are respected. Tampering/removing equipment will result in a minimum fine of $300.

House rules

Please be respectful of our home, neighborhood, and community. Violation of any of the following rules are grounds for cancellation of your stay and immediate removal from the property:
- 8 guest maximum occupancy; no unauthorized guests (penalty fee of $100 per unauthorized person, per night will apply).
- No smoking or vaping.
- No parties, events, or large gatherings.
- No excessive noise; quiet hours in place between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
- No underage drinking or use of illegal substances.
- Copy of a government issued ID must be shared with the Host upon confirmed reservation.
- Any loss or damage to real or personal property of a Host caused by the fault, negligence or intentional misconduct of a Guest (and any of their guests or pets) shall be charged to and paid for by the Guest.

Responsible guests and their well-mannered furry companion are welcome to our home, for whom the following pet policy applies:
- Only 1 dog weighing 50 pounds or less is permitted unless agreed upon in advance with the Host. No other pets or animals allowed (e.g., cats, birds, etc.), and a penalty fee of $100 per unauthorized animal, per night will apply.
- An additional one-time pet fee of $100 (before fees and taxes) per stay will apply.
- The dog must remain within the owner’s control at all times, either on a leash or in a carrier as appropriate.
- The dog must never be left alone on the property. However, for only short periods of time when it is not possible for the owner to take the dog with them where they go, then the dog can be crated or confined to a specific area in the home.
- We expect the dog to be completely house trained. Please clean up after the pet.
- The dog is not allowed on the furniture/beds.
- We count on the owner to prevent the dog from making excessive noise, being disruptive, or exhibiting aggression toward other guests or neighbors.
- In the unlikely event the property requires additional cleaning (e.g., fur/hair, potty, etc.) or if damages are incurred as a result of the dog, you will be charged additional fees starting at a minimum of $300 for services and repairs.

Great getaway

Great base for Joshua Tree!

We spent 5 nights at Nightsky Nest while we explored JT and it was a perfect location and great place to stay. Quiet neighborhood, clean and well stocked with everything we needed. It was such a relaxing place to come back to after a day of exploring. We would definitely go back if we are in the area again!

Nice House in a Quiet Neighborhood

Nice, clean home in a very quiet neighborhood. A great spot for enjoying the days traveling around the area, and being able to come back to a place with comfortable beds, and peaceful evenings. Ben and Michael's place was clean and well furnished. I'd certainly recommend this location for anyone with similar traveling needs.

Visiting Joshua Tree NP

My wife and her sister and I, all retirees, spent 12 nights at Night Sky Nest. The house was comfortable and attractive. It was very convenient to several NP entrances and to a great grocery store where we could get everything we needed for food. The neighborhood was a quiet residential area. The hosts were extremely responsive to any questions we had and went out of their way to meet our needs. The open kitchen, dining, and living room worked great for us. If we were to go back to Joshua Tree, we would stay there again.

One of the Best

Spent 4 days here as our base of operations for exploring Joshua Tree National Park. This one of the best places we have stayed in all of our travels. The location was great, the neighborhood was quiet, and it is close to everything. The house was very nicely decorated and appointed. Lots of extra towels, blankets, and pillows. Coffee pods provided for machine were a nice touch and very much appreciated. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

This property is great and in a good location - a very quiet residential neighbourhood with easy access to Joshua Tree National park. The property was clean and well equipped and we had excellent instructions/guidance. We particularly enjoyed sitting out at the rear of the property and enjoying the warm sunshine.
